8/1 - 3: Does seem we do the same things. Mandi, I have child support right, getting closer to being done. Even though I wrote the checks for the correct month and mailed them on time. If the post office is slow and the distribution center takes their time, it is my fault, so I have 1,500 in fees now as well. Oh well, some times we just have to learn the hard way it seems. Tried real hard to have a heat stroke today, sitting in front of the fan cooling off with ice water. Nearly passed out.

..sometimes there are just things beyond our control, Tiggs ...and it's those kinda things that really piss me off
Please do take care to respect that heat ... We were meant to seek out cool places when it's hot (remember your story about Count in the desert? )...not be out in it...working..none the less

When we get free range eggs it is from a farm south of here.
Wise choice, and that pic does look a lot like here, except seldom do ours all go to the same place at the same time. Here's some baby pics I just took (one day old chicks):

Mama would not let them come out from under the hedge because I was too close and she wasn't sure if I would eat them (or some such excuse). In a few more days, they will be out and about with much less fear.

Wifey makes a special dish she calls "Annoying Rooster Pot Pie." So if any of those 14 babies is a rooster, he might get eaten sometime in the next 6 months to a year. We don't eat the hens because we want their eggs. We only collect the eggs that are laid in the coop or one of the barns. Anywhere else... well, they can get hatched for replacement stock.

I really really dislike the Dmv, just saying. I have to go back tomorrow, I had the money, the registration and the new insurance buy apparently I have to have a letter from the old insurance and saying its can.. Which really makes no sense to me because they know the old insurance is cancelled, it's in their computer, I mean really they sent me a letter telling me that it's on file that I cancelled my insurance and that is the whole reason I'm up there paying the fine in the first place.. I think they just enjoy giving people the run around and making this as complicated as possible..

David grilled some chicken and I've got some broccoli and cheese rice cooking, I'm starving and sleepy.

brown eggs just mean a different breed of bird and has nothing to do with how fresh that eggs is
I always thought it was silly that people think brown eggs are somehow better than white. Perhaps it is because people have been indoctrinated to think along the lines of bread: brown must be more nutritious because it is "whole wheat."

8/1 - 5: Just like cleaning supplies are died blue, because people think that clear liquids can not clean.... SMH.

Well, I figured I'd deal with my wife's car registration renewal while running errands, since one of those errands took me close to the AAA office. Stand in line for a few minutes, get to the counter, and open the envelope to hand over the form... only to find "Smog Check Required." My wife's car is a hybrid--we've owned the car for 11 years and never needed a smog test. However, it appears the State decided to start requiring hybrids (and in looking it up, I found they also require all-electric vehicles) to be smogged alongside all the other cars. :glare:
8/1 - 2: How about this Count. On Saturday as I am fixing to leave to my boss' party, I see some six or seven unknown cars. Oh yeah here we go again, the house right across from me is rental property and they always are renting it out to teenagers who like to party and then throw their empty beer bottles in my yard, used cigarette box and butts. I pick it up every time, and walk it over to their yard and give it back. Skipping a lot when I get back there are two cop cars, and they used the spot light on me for a moment. I go to talk to them, and they must have been on edge, told me to back up and came out kinda aggressive. Whew worked that out, and when the cops leave about 15 teenagers come piling out of the house. I had already taken photos of their licenses, four of the teenage boys come up at me very aggressively, had to defuse that one as well. One young man told me he was going to put me down and take my phone. "Oh really?" I try to hand my phone to one of then. Here take it. "I don't want it." They learned that public spaces are actually public. And still leaving out a lot.

What a day I had. Drove across town 4 times. Just when I thought it was over, the phone rings, emergency service call. Halfway across town again. 2 hours late getting home. At least I came home to goodies in the mailbox.

1. Nice prize @Zipslack

@Mandikay - I hear ya about the DMV...can't stand them, especially Louisiana's...have gone with the bf a few times and OMG it's always ridiculous...I think that's one of the main reasons that keeps me from moving there full time...don't want to have to deal with them. :p ;)

Thanks for sharing about the chickens @Fuzzy Thunderbear - it brought back lots of good memories from childhood that was spent at my grandparents house...they had the chickens, well cows and pigs too, but mostly chickens...we had the cows and horses.

When we get free range eggs it is from a farm south of here. The pastures kind of look like this although I don't recall quite as many chickens in them.

I get 'em from my backyard. Normally hidden in the hay feeders.
