8/4 - 1: Good morning all, I told the boss one more day for me. Already doing good, the research I did yesterday, has my car in the shop this morning. Just not going to pay for specific tools to do one specific job. Was quoted $127 for labor only. Yes I have the parts needed.

I burn to hot and this is a hot desert type area. If we had a spring and fall I would be all for it. Here we do winter and four or five days it seems of spring straight into the dog days, and a few days of fall it seems again and straight into winter.

Edit: But I am willing to move to the snow Count.....

Good morning, everyone. I'm of the opinion that no one is ever happy: if it's summer, people want it to be winter; if it's winter, people complain about the cold and want the summer. I just go with it.

I have always thought it would be nice to move about the world and live with the seasons I like - primarily spring and warm, not hot summers. I would especially like to stay with longer daylight hours.

@Mandikay @westhc When was school done? I can't it's back to school. It's coming here but more about the end of the month

Working this afternoon, in need of coffee. Still can't believe it's back to school time. That's depressing.

High school graduation was May 26 - had to look at the school calendar. The grade and junior high schools are usually within a few days of the high school calendar.

Good Morning Treefam!
I am up having my morning coffee..
My trip to seattle area has been delayed a day or 2. My daughter ended up in the ER last night .They were driving back from the Coast and her appendix burst.
I spoke to her in recovery last night briefly , she was pretty sedated.
Waiting to here more after she see the DR. this morning.

Back when us dinosaurs went to school, it started the day after Labor Day and got out the last day before Memorial Day weekend. But we had a week off for Christmas and week Spring Break. Today's kids get more time off during the school year because teachers (which today seem to be all unions) have tons of "in service" days where they go to conferences and other stuff. Seems the teachers of yesteryear were expected to "keep up" on their own time.

That is more what I remember........Memorial Day meant it was time for it to be done.......Labor Day meant it was to start....

Still waiting to hear back from my daughter. She did send me a text saying the doctors did say she gets to go home tomorrow. they were taking vitals then... gosh its been a few hours...

Regarding school dates, our local school district is just switching over to the "new" schedule. It used to be that the school year ran early-mid September to early-mid June; now the school year will run from late August to late May. Still seems kind of silly for school to start before Labor Day, which has often been considered the unofficial end of summer.
