I have a setup with National Weather Service called a "point forecast." I entered my latitude and longitude and their computer creates a forecast, supposedly dead on at my house. HA! Anyway, the nearest official reporting stations to me are a couple automated instrument packages, one at Faith airport (a dirt track) 28 miles east of us and a few hundred feet lower in altitude and another in Newell, 48 miles west of us and a couple hundred feet higher in altitude. Their computers HAVE TO KNOW THIS. In any case, the "program" tells me that my high for today was 92F at 15% RH. Because the humidity was so low, the heat index calculation actually comes out lower than free air temperature -- supposedly only 88F. What? MY instruments (a weather station NOT connected to their computers) says my high was 97F at 52% RH, giving a heat index of 112F. Now why do you suppose they lied about it? Or are computers today just really stupid?

And, YES, I was outside working in that nastiness. When I came back in the house, my shirt was soaking wet. I'm gonna go lie in the bathtub now.

@Fuzzy Thunderbear Now that is funny! And yea, computers are only as smart as the programmer. Believe me, I work with one of the dumbest systems in existence. :-\ I keep saying the company needs to hire a 12 year old to fix it. I'm sure a computer club kid could do a much better job!

Well I'm really not sure how today is going to go, 3/4 of our drivers decided to go on strike as of this morning :/ we are making phone calls and cancelling alot of jobs because we don't have anyone to deliver the concrete. I hate this because everyone is having a hard enough time with all this flooding and damage.. Really not good timing.. But it is what it is.. Now to figure out what to do about it

8/29 - 1: Good morning all, two hours of sleep just does not cut it. Staying home today. Thanks JPF and I think of you daily as well.

Edit: and how ignorant Mandi, at this time? Fire them all, and hire new ones? Nobody is irreplaceable.

8/29 - 2: Okay positive things right. Yesterday I look outside, some football being played. I go out and start to watch, there is this young male boy, pads on practicing. Come to find out he is a quarterback, nice tight spirals. After a while I let him know that when I played, it was at corner and free safety. Showed him some defenses and worked out some passing plays. Made him afraid to throw, but in a good way. He understood how to throw it tighter and faster, to the right shoulder. I did get one pick/interception. I told him to not worry about it, and explained all the targets he would be able to throw to. Last play of the day, had him fake the ball to the running back, running back goes to take the tight ends place. The tight end took two steps, fake block and a flow out. Wide receiver went three and out.... Had that I do not know eleven year old, doing things that college kids barely learn, drew out plays for him to study. Told him to write it down, flip the plays, see all those paths....
