Cut the grass this afternoon and it wore me out.
Should be spending some time copying files and tweaking my new puter but can't concentrate good enough so it'll wait another day.

Good things that happened today:
The sun came out at the coast at 3pm
I have taken my mini hill walk - hopefully up to a regular walk next week.
My new camera is out for delivery - we are on a late delivery schedule - sometimes not until 6 or even 6:30 in bad weather.

Hope all had a good day and may you have a joyous and peaceful evening - or a fun madhouse if you prefer.

November 23, 2017 Philadelphia, Pa. Suzy liked to walk in the park, it let her take in the fresh air and stretch her legs. Her work in retail made her stand still most of the day, and her legs would get restless. Half of the days of the week she worked out, the other half she went for a walk. Today was the day to walk, and her clothes were in a bag that she brought to work. After her shift had ended, Suzy went to the restroom and changed into her walking clothes, the weather report was for a mild evening and night.

She drove her beat up old car down Parkside Ave, and parked on the side of the road, she enjoyed going to Fairmount Park, there were a lot of trees and scenery. She crossed over the Avenue of the Republic towards the small body of water there. The ducks and birds would come and be delighted in the water and the bugs that they could catch, and made for a nice scene as she walked around. The weather was turning and there were not as many this evening, but it was okay and she walked around the water, and continued northeast, she would walk 10-12 miles, no path just wherever her heart would take her.

The sun was already getting low by the time she got off of work, and the weathermen had gotten it wrong again. It was supposed to be a mild night, low 70's, no wind. There was already a breeze coming in as the sun went down and the lights around the park stared to come on, just close enough for Suzy to see, and it made her feel comfortable.

There was a smell of moisture in the air, the breeze felt a little cooler, but her walking kept her warm. The trees stood tall, their bodies straight and dark, with the light behind them. Always cautious, she turned and looked behind her, she knew there could be homeless and others around. The park was void of any other where she was. She continued to walk quickly through the park, a harsh push of wind hit her and slowed her progress. The wind was very cold, it must have been 20 degrees cooler than it was a moment before.

The wind died down from the hard gale, and there was a steady much cooler breeze, the leaves on the ground started to move around and rustle. Her footsteps could be heard crunching through the leaves, her breath getting faster and harder, she was pushing herself, she wanted to finish her walk before going home. She checked behind herself again just to be sure, and there was no one around. Suzy kept walking quickly, her long brown hair was back in a ponytail, her 5'6" frame was fit, she kept herself in good shape.

Another gust of wind blew against her, and made the trees sway and creek, the leaves moved some more and rustled and twisted around the trees, the sound made Suzy look back again to be sure. Nothing and she looked back forward at the bodies of the trees, she took a few more steps and then froze. That was no tree, not as tall, about 6' tall and dressed all in black with a hood, someone was coming towards her. She thought it unusual as she never saw other people at this time, and her senses went on high alert.

The figure turned to the right and walked away, disappearing in the trees. Suzy started to walk again, and kept an eye on the figure walking away, but they were gone. Suzy quickened her pace and started to look more often, her head swiveled as she still looked for the figure. She had just passed a tree and turned her head back forward, when a snap was heard behind her. Suzy turned her head and saw the black hood, she turned her body around, just in time to see the knife coming at her. She backed away, and dodged, but the person was too close. The blade was coming forward towards her stomach, Suzy defensively threw her arms in the way to protect herself. The knife cut her right forearm, the pain was instant, and she looked in horror as blood started to come out. "Help!" she screamed out as the blade swung again.

Suzy was able to move back far enough not to be struck again, and the figure came forward again, the knife again going straight at her. Suzy back away, her stance changed she had taken some Taekwondo, and knew some defensive moves. She moved just to her right as the blade swung and missed, she was just about to throw a punch, when her foot hit a rock and tripped her back. Suzy fell to the ground and the figure came forward towards her.

Suzy crawled backwards. "Help! Someone Please!" She kicked the person in the shin and stalled them just a moment. The figure corrected quickly and came back fast, Suzy kicked again, this time the blade cut her leg. The figure came in close, the blade coming forward. Suzy brought her legs towards her stomach, as the person came down with the blade. Suzy kicked the person with both of her legs, but the blade was already on its way, and adjusting it cut deep into her right calf.

Suzy cried out in pain, the person did not fall and was coming again. Suzy started to panic, there was pain all over her, she turned around and tried to get up to run, to walk anything. Her legs were in no shape and she fell to the ground. She started crawling forward, and her thoughts changed. She was all of a sudden seeing the face of her mother, who had passed two years before. The pain in her back was intense, and it happened more than once, and quickly.

Suzy's body was getting slow, her hands grabbed at the dirt trying to pull herself forward, she took in a handful of leaves and felt more pain. Enough, she had enough and turned on her back to see her attacker. The figure came close and fast and as the blade went into her chest, she could finally see through the darkness of the hood, seemed like blue eyes. The blade turned without leaving, and it was over. Suzy lay there as the attacker came closer to her, the hood came close to her face. She could hear sniffing, the person was smelling her.

Suzy spit up blood and asked faintly. "Who are you, and why?" There was no answer, as the blade moved, and struck low in her left side. "Hmmm...." was all Suzy could produce, she looked up at the trees and the stars above, they started to fade, until there was nothing but darkness.

Good morning treefam. First day of fall and it's supposed to be nearly 90 here. Dang when is the cooler weather coming? Watch it go from hot to cold without those nice cool days in between. Oh well i guess that's why they made air conditioners and furnaces.

The new camera came. First had to charge the battery. Then download the manual - the printed type in the manual that came with it is sooooo small.
Then, most challenging, figure out how to change the display from kanji to English.
I'll play with it tonight and see how I like it.

E. 1. 2.

The morning air was much cooler, the cold front that was not predicted had come through the area, the temperatures had dropped greatly, the morning temperature was 52 degrees. The leaves were starting to all fall quickly from the trees, blowing around in the constant wind. Betty walked her dog in the park, she enjoyed the morning air, it seemed like all the pollution was gone at that time, fresh and invigorating. The smell of breakfast rolls wafted through the air, smelled like steak and eggs at times. With the cooler weather a mixture of coffee and hot chocolate at times made it to her nose.

Betty walked her poodle in the park, her white hair tied up in a bun, she had been widowed for six years and she went and found a partner to fill the hole. Her poodle was happy to be walking in the park, its little tail wagging, sniffing the ground and the leaves. Betty would let her dog go up to other friendly dogs, when they were seen, and she continued to walk along.

The wind was constant, but strong gusts would come every now and then, it made her slow down, and that made her poodle slow down, the dog pulled forward; in a way that said come on. The poodle seemed very interested in something, it kept sniffing the ground and turning its head left and right, sniffing and sniffing. The dog pulled hard on the leash, "What is it Grace?" asked Betty. The dog kept pulling hard on the leash, sniffing the ground.

The wind continued to blow, and a few leaves still moved around, but had bunched up around the trees. She watched her steps closely as the dog moved its little legs feverishly, still tugging. Betty let her dog lead her on, and they both came near a tree, the dog started around the other side and Betty followed, she said. "What, what is it?" The dog stopped and barked, it was looking at a pile of leaves. It continued to stand still and bark. "What are you doing Grace, we need to get going, come on."

Betty pulled on the leash, but the dog would not follow, it pulled back and went closer to the leaves. Betty gave up and followed the dog around the tree, the poodle went to a large mound of leaves, and started to scratch at the ground, Betty came closer and looked. A bloody hand and arm could be seen, just coming out of the leaves. Betty put her left hand to her mouth and said out loud "Oh my Lord."

Chapter two.

"Why is it, that things like this happen on a cold day?" the female said as she put the cup of coffee up to her mouth. "Beats me Jaki." said Ted. The two walked side by side. They both were dressed well, suits, black jackets, white shirts, and black pants. They walked through the park, the destination easy to see. There was already some ten police in the area taking pictures, do not cross tape was strung out in a long area. Four other policemen were up the way, keeping the reporters back and having a hard time at it.

"Detectives Lancaster and Grimes, good to see you again." said a man as they got closer. "Tell us what we have Frank." said Ted. Frank responded, "Well, we know she was female, probably in her mid twenties, and we think brown hair." Ted and Jaki kept walking, and Jaki said. "What do you mean probably mid twenties and think brown hair?" Frank turned and walked with them to the crime scene. "Well, she has no identification on her, no purse, or wallet, and there is so much blood, we are not positive of the hair color yet, until the body is taken to the coroner."

Ted looked at Frank as they continued to walk through the leaves, the air still very cool. "Is it that bad?" he asked. Frank responded. "Well take a look for yourself." The two detectives stopped with frank, a white sheet was placed over the body. Frank motioned for the sheet to be removed. Another male policeman removed the sheet, and the detectives looked on. "Wow, have not seen anything like this, what is this?" Jaki moved closer to the body and started looking for evidence. "There are multiple stab wounds to her back, in her chest, side, legs, and arm." Ted heard it and quickly asked. "Arm?" Frank responded. "Yes, one of the arms, the right one has been removed, either by blade, or...." "Or what?" asked Jaki as she got a little closer. "It looks like her arm may have been chewed off, and possibly part of her neck."

Ted walked around the body carefully, trying not to disturb any evidence. "Wow, a souvenir. Is this where she died?" Frank responded. "No, the dogs found another spot right over there." he pointed to the right and up to the north towards the direction of the reporters. "About twenty feet over there, is a large amount of blood that has been found, we are sure it is hers and will test the DNA later for matches."

Jaki and Ted continued to look over the scene and close at the body. "These are some big cuts, it must have been a large blade, not a surgical one." Said Jaki, as another officer shouted out close to the blood location. "Detectives! We have something!" Jaki, Ted, and Frank went over to the officer. "What do you have?" asked Frank. "We found a set of keys." he responded pointing down. Ted bent down and took a pen out of his pocket, he placed it through a keychain loop, and brought the keys up.

"Looks like a Honda." Frank produced a clear plastic bag with the words evidence on it, and Ted let the keys fall into it. "Well she either lived real close, or her car is near. We should have the traffic police let us know if they find a Honda parked they will be giving a ticket to." said Jaki. Frank said "Will do, is there anything else you need?" Ted responded. "No, until we find more, there is really nothing else we can do at this time, call us when you find out something."

Frank said. "I will call you as soon as we find out anything." "Thanks Frank, take care, and don't let the reporters know anything yet. All they need to know is that a female body has been found, that is it." said Ted as he and Jaki walked away. "Sometimes I hate this job, seeing something like that, and then trying to find something to eat later." said Jaki. "Come on I will take you to your favorite place, you know you can eat there no matter what." responded Frank. "Your treat?" asked Jaki as she took another sip of coffee. "Yes, my treat." said Ted back.

The two continued to walk out of the park, through the trees. The wind continued to blow, it was behind them a little now. "Brrrrr, that is getting cold." said Jaki. "Yeah, we should become weathermen, get paid to just make up something. Oh it is going to be, ummmm cold today with some wind. A chance of rain or snow, or nothing take your pick." said Ted. Jaki looked over at him and smiled, she said. "It is no wonder you wife likes you so much, with all that charm."
