So Count I have heard mixed reviews is the Star Wars movie good in your opinion?
First off, the movie does not have the same kind of feel of a Star Wars movie (even the one from last year): there is no crawl (the scrolling story line), nor is the music the traditional John Williams score (although the score does weave in more and more familiar themes as the story progresses). The early part of the film actually jumps from location to location and among several disparate characters, more in line with a spy thriller, but this is necessary to set up the story (I'm trying not to give too much away--spoilers, you know). Also, the subject manner, while about heroic deeds, is not so driven by heroes as by normal people doing what needs to be done. That said, it is definitely Star Wars, and actually elevates the the history and personae of several of the characters from the earlier films. Is it good? If you had asked me 15 minutes into the movie, I would probably have said no (because of the aforementioned differences), but on further reflection I would say yes--but with the understanding that it a telling of a tale that is part of the backdrop to the saga as we know it.

Lost in all of the excitement surrounding the coming of the new year is the fact that tomorrow is Saturday. That means, unless we hear otherwise, we will have a new winner and a new contest. You all know what to do...

I'm headed out to dinner with friends, so it's sign-off time for me. Good night, Treefam!

12/31 - 1: Morning all, been up a little while.
TIOA Sns9 eps 36: Theo stayed close to the fire, he was getting warmth back in his body, his brothers took his soaked and freezing clothes and laid them on the cave wall near the fire to drip dry and dry by the fire. "You need to be more careful Theo." said Pallab as he put Theo's shirt closer to the fire, he wrung out the water. Theo turned to him and said back. "You were pulling on me and made me lose my balance." Pallab turned back around to him and responded. "You do not get to blame that on me, had you come along on your own."

"We should gather more wood Pallab." said Latrell, and he looked at his younger brother sternly. Pallab nodded and went out the cave entrance with his older brother, Theo looked at the fire and decided to add another piece of wood that was already gathered, he stirred the other wood with it first and the flames came up, he tossed the wood on top and continued to watch the fire. He scooted closer and the heat was almost too much, but he stopped hunching and sat erect and the heat was under his chin and he could feel it on his face. He sighed feeling better.

After a few minutes his brothers came back with wood in their arms, Theo thought it was enough for the night and felt better. His brothers ducked as they came in and threw the wood on the ground near the fire. "Come on Theo, enough sitting around you can help. Stack the wood, we need to get more." said Latrell. "Get more, don't we have enough already?" said Theo as he got up and over to the wood and started to stack it.

The sound of branches cracking and rustling could be heard outside. Theo froze, Latrell went nearer the entrance and gave out a hoot. He waited and heard no response, he gave one more hoot and waited, Pallab came near him. Latrell turned to Theo and pointed at him and put his hand up straight to say stay. He pointed to Pallab's sword and looked at Pallab and motioned out and to the right, he then pointed at himself and motioned out and left. Pallab nodded that he understood and the two started to leave. "Wait..." Said Theo starting and Pallab turned back and put his finger up to his mouth. "Shhh."

Theo watched as his brothers left and the anxiety was back on him, he went back behind the fire and placed it between him and the entrance and watched out into the darkness and listened. He heard nothing for what seemed like forever and finally a few sounds and felt good that his brothers were coming back.

He watched the entrance and there was movement, hard to see and dark, and the large body ducked to come in and rose. Theo's heart rose as he saw the white and blue painted face and the bear skin. He wanted to move back, but was already at the dirt wall. The big man smiled and bared his yellow teeth a large sword in his hand, Theo moved quickly and grabbed his much smaller sword.

The man laughed wickedly and put the sword away and took out a smaller knife with a curved blade, he smiled and started forward, Theo's heart pounded and he stood and held his sword in front of him, the sword shaking in the air as his fear was being transferred through the blade. The man came close and started to raise his dagger to meet the sword. "Ugh... Ugh." the big man said and fell forward just missing the fire and Theo, two swords stuck in his back. "Theo are you okay?" said Latrell as he moved quickly forward taking the sword back out and coming forward, Theo was still looking at the big man and only turned when Latrell touched Theo on the shoulder.

"Theo! are you okay?" Latrell asked one more time and Theo looked over at him and recognized his brothers face, he dropped his sword and hugged Latrell. "Yes." Latrell hugged him back and watched as Pallab took out his sword, Pallab said. "We should check him out and take his clothes."

12/31 - 3: Morning Blue and Mac, about to take a break.
TIOA Sns9 eps 37: Pallab went over to the large body on the ground and first took out the large sword and set it to the side, he then took the blade out of his hand and set it down as well. He checked the man's body and found some cord, and jerky, he tossed that to Latrell who caught it and he gave it to Theo. Theo took the jerky and started to chew on it and watched as his two brothers continued to search, they started to take off the big bear coat, the man was heavy and the two brothers pushed hard to turn him over.

They removed his arm from one side and then went to the other side and removed his other arm, they rolled him over and away from the coat. Pallab took it and stood, it was taller than he or anyone in the cave. He set it down and went back to search with his brother. Theo went back close to the fire and looked at the sword, he stuck the jerky in his mouth and grabbed the sword and sat down with it in his lap.

Theo took the sword in both arms and lifted it in the air, it was very heavy and he let it set on the ground between his legs, letting the earth take the weight and balanced it, he could almost see his own face in the blade, he started to move his left hand up over it and stopped. "Ouch." he looked and a little blood was coming out, the sword was very sharp.

There was more sound outside and the two older brothers stood and grabbed their swords again, they waited and another figure was coming in. "What is going on? I told you not to start a fire!" Their mother came in and it took a moment for her eyesight to adjust, she looked at Theo with a large sword and then over to her other sons and saw a body on the ground. "What is this?" she asked. Latrell answered back. "Mom, one of them came at us and we killed him."

She moved into the cave and set down the deer meat and said back. "Why is there a fire, so that they can spot you?" Latrell pointed at Theo and said. "Theo fell into the water, he was going to freeze to death, so we made a fire to warm him up and to dry his clothes." The mother went over to Theo and asked him, while taking the sword softly and down. "Are you okay?" "Yes mother." he mumbled his head started down, the jerky still in his mouth. She took her right hand and lifted his face to meet her eyes. "Are you sure?"

Theo looked at her and nodded his head yes, his mother stood and said. "We have to go, they know where we are." Pallab said quickly. "Wait mom, this is the only one and there are no signs of any other, the coat he was wearing is big enough to cover the entrance." Abby stood there a moment and thought for a second. "Okay, we can set the coat so they can't see us and sleep and eat here tonight." Pallab took the coat to the entrance and Latrell followed and they put rocks on top of the coat to keep it in place.

Theo chewed on the jerky and looked at the sword and his brothers and then the fire, he could hear his mother dressing the meat. "Get a few large sticks together and make a tripod, use this rope." Latrell and Pallab went over and grabbed wood and the rope, Pallab took the cord he found and they fastened wood together, their mother took the meat from under the rib and her small dagger and pushed it into the meat, she forced it through and made a hole. "Take this and place a thick stick in it." Pallab took the meat and did as he was told and put the meat on the tripod.

Theo exhausted laid on the ground and listened to them talk silently and watched the flames dance. "Make a hole for the smoke." the mother said as the room started to fill, Latrell went to the coat and loosed on rock and made and exhaust and then moved just a section near the bottom. Theo's eyes got heavy and he watched his brother come back and listened the words getting duller, and his eyes closed.
