OK I have seen a few people comment that their GLV will tip over sometimes. Here is a simple device to prevent that which I found at the hardware store tonight.





$1.29 and it will hold your GLV upright, slips right off and will hold it at just about any angle as you can see. LOL

I use a tall shot glass that I found in the cupboard.

I lay mine down. I've fond that nearly any horizontal surface will do.

When I had my MINI ..... I went to the drug store and got a rubber tip that goes on a walking cane.. (or crutch).
It was marked for 3/4 to 7/8 dia if I remember correctly.

Just slipped it on and it made a stand up unit out of it.
Looked like crap, but worked. What a shame, the GLV line is super sexy IMO but I need a stand up unit.
Sold the mini and put the funds toward a P-18

Sorry to quote myself... but I spent the last 2 nights with a block of Maple Burl and some varying degrees of sandpaper. Here is my basic wood block stand after it's first coat of Tung Oil.

It needs a bunch more coats... but I'm happy with it so far.

Thanks... I think it'll be a nice center piece to my new home studio / office desk (I'm fixing up a house currently... should be moved in within 2 months).

That would be cool Jay, if I knew there was going to be a contest, I might have taken a little more time with mine.

I think I've gone far enough with the Tung Oil... maybe one more coat.
