I was in walgreens and noticed they had a glycerin laxative and they had 2gram tablets aswell, however I didn't pick it up and investigate further, anyone ever see this. Would it work fir diy liquid? I'm pretty sure it was pure glycerin. However I may completely stop vaping if I find out this VG for skin treatment I got at cvs Is the same exact thing as the laxative In a diff bottle. I have noticed an increase in urgency to "go".

Also Not sure if this post goes here or in the health section, I guess it just depends on whether or not the laxative form works for liquid, feel free to move it if you feel it fits better in another section.

Glycerin is a laxative if you actually swallow it. vaping it shouldn't give you anywhere close to the necessary dosage to cause that kind of side effect. They're orders of magnitude different.

Honestly, depending on how much you're vaping, (and how much you smoked) you're likely to just be giving yourself a slight nicotine overdose. Nicotine is a powerful stimulant, and it stimulates that part of your tract too. Consider cutting/cutting down the nicotine content of your eliquid (easy fix, especially if you're already into diy)

Yes, glycerin is a laxative... And it has a ton of other uses, too. Some people do say that vaping VG gives them some issues, like a mild laxative...

In the pharmacy, you want to pick up glycerin that says, quite clearly, "USP Glycerin" on the front label, and avoid anything that says "For external use only" just to be safe. The phrase "USP Glycerin" - and only that exact specific phrase - denotes glycerin that meets the United States Pharmacopoeia standards. USP Glycerin is the purist, safest glycerin known.

You may find stuff that says things like "100% Vegetable Glycerin" or "USP grade", but that stuff isn't true USP Glycerin. If you believe their marketing, and believe that the company does have very strong quality controls and concerns for safety and purity, then feel free to try some. At your own risk.

Note that many of us use such "100% Vegetable Glycerin" and "USP grade" products because we like it better. I, for one, prefer the taste of Heritage 100% Vegetable Glycerin over any other glycerin I've tried, and that's all that I use now. But I'm using that stuff against the recommendation of at least one pharmacist here. I believe the company's commitment to quality and purity, but have no proof of it.

USP Glycerin is guaranteed to be high quality and pure by a powerful and knowledgeable arm of the US government. 100% Vegetable Glycerin is not.

Is that true? New, first time vapors get the runs?

It's been a while since I started (9 months) but IIRC, I didn't get the runs so much as I became more 'regular.' I also started out vaping 36mg, and I've reduced it quite a bit since then. Sometimes I think about digging out a bottle of 36 just to 'get things going.'

I diluted it a bit and it seems to work lol but the stuff about usp is good info Ty for that. I'll try walmart tomorrow, I feel uncomfortable telling em what I using it for... Is there ANY way to bypass the glycerin all together?

Yep, use PG instead. It may not have as much vapor, but it should suffice. And at Walmart, you won't have to tell them what you are using it for... it's typically on the shelf (referring to glycerine, not PG).

And what "powerful and knowledgeable arm' is that?

Also note once the PG is repackaged into smaller bottles, by the various suppliers, it no longer meets FDA and/or USP requirements and can't be labeled as such. Unless of course they have the proper sterilization equipment and government certifications.

Glycerine is a laxative in moderate amounts. Usually the preferred route of administration of Glycerine as a laxative is in suppository form(check the antacid/laxative aisle of your pharmacy and you'll see both adult and infant glycerine suppositories), but it can also be administered orally to acheive this effect. I had been asked this question earlier by someone else and, yes , it is possible that you may be ingesting(swallowing) a sufficient quantity during a whole day of vaping to feel a minor laxative effect(i.e. increased urgency to go). For some people this may be a good thing, others, not so good. Remember, that when your vaping(as opposed to smoking) a good portion of the vapor is condensing in your upper resiratory tract(i.e mouth, tongue, buccal mucosa, pharynx), which is then simply swallowed unknowingly.
