Got your shipping confirmation and am awaiting the package with great anticipation. This is exciting stuff. I'll be cleaning and re-coiling 2 kayfuns while I wait to do side by side comparisons. Going to get those ohms exactly the same on each coil.

Excellent good choice of rba to test these with. The barrel really gave this juice a unique body of flavors and enhanced the tobaccos and throat hit for sure. Color is just awesome. Being an ex pack-a-dayer the throat hit, tobaccos and light char really do it for me. The sweets are always in the background until the very end when the char and tobacco really take over.

Looks like today is the day according to your tracking numbers gentlemen. I'll be sticking to this thread like glue today I'm dying to know what you guys think.

Mail may be delayed a bit were in the grips of a pretty big snow storm here in the north east. I'm located 5.2 miles from where the super bowl was played.

My mail generally runs around 4:30 CST, I should have a review posted around 6 PM.

Excited to get a dripper full :D

Great thanks for the timeframe, can't wait.

Yeah I'm right in the middle of the storm as well. I'm an hour and 45 minutes from the stadium.

We are practically neighbors. We'll have to get together some time.

Absoluetly. We'll work that out.

The sad thing is that after we all chat a bit about the taste tests coming later today, that's going to wrap up the thread for the most part and it's been great having a spot to chat it up with you all.

So would anyone want me to make a new start to finish how to make your own oak barrel reserve DIY thread with recipe, pics, tips and costs, etc?

You can keep the thread going with the other reserve your going to make.

Things that interest me are:

What will be the amount if liquid lost on your second run.

Adding flavored oak chips effect.

Any potential issues stemming from vaping liquid steeped in oak.

Flavor leeching/mixing from the barrel.

I'm sure there are others if I thought about it for a while.

This thread is not even close to being dead and yes an outline would be great.

Don't know I would go the full barrel route, but the wood chips are a definite possibility. Amazon has chips of various woods, even in sample packs of 3-4 types...:)

Anxious to hear results of the barrel!

I'm thinking wood chip dark amber bottle route. Maybe a few of us can do this by agreeing on a common recipe and compare results and technique.

Actually I like that idea. I'm starting a 5 sample mix set here in about an hour or 2. It's going to be whiskey, bourbon cola tobacco. Not sure if I should add hints of vanilla or cherry or anything else.

This batch is going in the barrel so I can use the seasoning from these 2 batches for a straight tobacco batch.

While I do the tobacco batch I'm going to get 1 bag of each of these wood chuncks from Western. Ebay seller has all of them.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/flavorshop/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

· Jack Daniels Wood Chips

· Alder Wood Chips

· Cherry Wood Chips

· Orange Wood Chips

· Peach Wood Chips

· Maple Wood Chips

· Apple Wood Chips

· Hickory Wood Chips

· Mesquite Wood Chips

I'll char them myself and load up each type of wood in it's own glass jug. HJow's that for a tasty spread. Question would be do I use the same base liquid in each or use flavorings that compliment each type of wood?

Thinking of using Ball canning jars. You can get 12 for $9.99, have pleanty of room for wood and liquid, they are glass and air tight sealed.
