I have been upsetting those that do not like Provaries. I am not going to try to not recommend or defend a Provari for a week.

This will be hard.
The task at hand IS difficult, young JJOOHHNN. But remember the power of the force is always with you. Repeat the phrase...."ohm Provari....ohm Provari....." :2cool:

Hi JJOOHHNN

You love your ProThingys, I love my ProThingys, but the reason I bonked on you in that thread last night wasn't because of the OP (as the posts went along it became obvious the guy had already made up his mind what to get and was looking for reasons to justify his choice), what concerned me was the 12 or so other people who were reading, but not posting.

We are very fortunate to be able to afford the devices we have chosen, not everyone is. I have gotten more than one PM from new vapers almost in tears because they can't afford a mod or are afraid they won't be able to operate one and their only other option is wasting their money on "junk," which won't help them quit smoking.

We no longer smoke; vaping has become a hobby for us. That is a different frame of mind from someone who wants more than a Blu, but is intimidated by the whole process. I don't mean you shouldn't say the ProThingy is the best thing you've ever experienced in your whole life, since that appears to be true, what I'm asking is for you to be a little sensitive to where other new vapors may be coming from.

I have Arabian horses - blood, bone and fire. They are the best horses in the world (according to people who love them) or high-strung, overpriced, insane roller coasters (according to most Quarter Horse owners). Mine are well-trained and theoretically you should be able to jump on one and fly. Maybe you could, or maybe you'd break your neck. If you've never ridden before, starting out on a calm horse is a good idea, even if you plan on getting an Arab. It's a bit of a dramatic analogy, but people who can afford it often get "over horsed" in the beginning - they have a beautiful animal they aren't sure what to do with - and they aren't having fun.

Usually the ones that don't like Provaris are the the ones that have never owned one. :vapor: There are exceptions but they are far and few between sooo... Don't stop, not even for a week because maybe in that one week, you can save newcomers from spending their hard earned money on useless e-cigs like I did in the very beginning . Then again, I didn't know about this forum when I first began. I wish I did ;)

Unless a member makes an inquiry about a provari, I will not recommend a provari, again.

This is no different than Bad spending all the time and effort to suggest a good delivery device, upon a request for assistance, and the OP decides on a twizzler. Nothing wrong with the twizzlers, but I have found better for myself.

I believe that our passion/excitement for our devices and wanting to share what we have learned, in order to saves others the learning curve and the headaches, is viewed in a different light, unfortunately.

lets try this anaolgy again with sportbikes...a 250cc is a POS to people who ride but... ok j/k

anyways i always give options according to how much they want to spend and what they want out of it...

believe it or not, an ego twist will work EVERY BIT as well as a provari if the only goal is to quit smoking...which of course is and should be the primary reason to start vaping. then some of us go a little crazy and buy a prothingy and then another prothingy and then prothingy accessories and then mechs and more mechs and attys and....ok im gonna pass out if i keep thinking about this, i still have to get ready to hit BUY for that Nemesis tonight.

JJohhnn: I wasn't trying to say that I didn't like Provaris.

No worries, if JJohhnn is like myself and others, we are just a bit disappointed that some do not understand that are truly attempting to help.

At times, I can see how it may be construed differently.

So true. :thumb:

I often put out a great deal of information to someone who asks for assistance. I base my answers and recommendations on personal experience and knowledge that I have accumulated. I try to take into consideration what experience level the questioner is in their vaping experience and what might work for the setup they currently are using.

Despite all that information, many times the OP goes a different route, which I can usually predict will lead to an unsatisfying experience. They make their own choices based on other factors. Nothing I can do about that. Chalk it up to experience.

Concerning the Provari, I feel its best selling point is because it is made by an American company that stands by its product even after the warranty is finished. No other variable voltage APV can offer that, that I know of. Just because I believe it is a better device than any other on the market is a personal opinion that can be argued forever.

Oppps, I made a P word post, I forgot I was not going to mention the P word for a week.

That said I generally when saying the P word outside of this P word forum it is usually after it has already been mentioned. Especially after someone asks if they should get one.

I do remember my early posts in this forum. I was looking for something very specific and it might influence my thinking about the topic. I explained I was looking for something when I was glued to a desk working for 12 hours at a time. At the time I had stuff from FIN, and Blu Cigs.

I said when I start working there are days that I don't get up until the work is done and it can be 12 or more hours. I explained that I wanted enough battery to last the day and enough capacity to last the day. I said there was no budget, I would pay for something that I can set up and run for 12 hours with.

Box mods did get mentioned as well as some other things but some were saying no more than an eGo and that I should have a pass though. What happened was when I am working I am not surfing the internet or playing. I am working and dealing with physical things and the computer at the same time with multiple screens. The pass through cord was in the way all the time so I went to using the batteries. They did not have a wide enough base and fell over all the time so they instead started being left on their side then they would leak. I got no benefit from the eGo stuff in my situation. They were a bother and I went to using pre-filled V2's at this point. I do wish people started saying the P-word more often.

I got the P thing and it worked. No cord to fight with, it had a wide enough base and enough weight to be stable even with a 5ml tank. It didn't fall over every few minutes that eventually caused a gap to forum in the tank on the eGo. No more dumping the contents of the tank on the eGo all over the desk. The 1000mah twist was the wost, so tall with weight on top made it so unstable. The power control on the P-word was not hard to use, I had trouble reading the dial on the eGo Twist.

The more I used the P-word the better I liked it. I want to know why people were not telling me I should get the P-word? It solved all of my desk and home based issues. The only one it does not solve are my athletic ones.

LMAO . . . You and I both JJOOHHNN, you and I both, and many more. Imagine me, wearing trifocals and attempting to read the etched lines on an ego c twist.

- Andy

That doesn't work very well for me anymore. The edge of the twist knob has worn away. Forget Ohm's Law, the Twist requires the ability to visualize Euclidean geometry.

that's nicer than i could put it.
you want to help someone, but you shouldn't be spit on for trying to.
i'll only recommend a coffee can with juice in it on top a stove burner.

Well, I received a Sigelei Zmax V3 telescoping Flat Top, yesterday. As such, I have started to comment on the differences between the said and my provari. I'll see where this goes.

NOPE! bad analogy..a provari will not kill you.
everyone has to START somewhere. i started on a 1994 ninja 250 and rode with the big boys, 8000+ miles in like 6 months(and i sold it for $100 more than i paid for it LOL)...when i first got my "real sportbike" i told a few ppl that, had i started on it...i would NOT be riding at all....i had to relearn.
I still recommend the 250 (used) to ppl that are looking to get into riding...it teaches you things..i would rather have someone outgrow and repurchase than lose them altogether.

to those of you that are going to "monitor" or suspend your passion and opinion...WHY?!
I really don't see why you are letting ppl you have nothing invested in dictate your activities....especially since i am pretty sure no one is going to spend *their* money and then blame any dissatisfaction on you...and if they do...they're gonna sue you for damages? from a msg board? good luck with that one LOL

i don't own a ProThingy (which makes it even more weird that post in a lot of prov threads LOL) but............................
Provari, Provari, Provari, Provari, Provari! :p

i am personally grateful to the Twist, the vivi nova, and the 250....all have served their purpose in teaching me what i needed to know. I have a mini ego, twist, and a ego mega...all are different vaping experiences despite being an "ego".
