A brutal choice to have to make, since your electronics are so good, well tested. If you go boost, 18xxx battery I would assume, lets you do both shorter and longer versions while keeping the top end the same.

I really, really, like the current pro series simple user interface, wheel plus fire button.

Ya this has thrown a BIG wrench into the whole thing man ! ! this changes everything from the top down. the PCB for a 4 amp Boost setup is BIG and long so it would end up much like a Buzz Pro in size so ???????????

Well that seems pointless unless you find that sales of the current Pro series continue to suffer because of the scare.

It's a d@mn shame because as originally conceived, even now it would have no equal. Closest things out there are the new mini Provari, POJ mini Lavatube, then of course the various deceptively marketed VV eGo knock offs. Off the three, the former are much larger in diameter than the evvo would have been, and really only slightly smaller than a Buzz Pro.

A slimmed tube, with the slots integral, perforated mylar inner sleeve to keep out foreign objects, would be interesting.
Can't go too tiny, the batts need to handle couple amps drive.

The design was for 16340's like the Buzz Pro so same performance in a small package , I have to let this mellow out first before I continue.

Understandable. Realistically worst-case should be pick up the slots, though if you did that a perf mylar inner sleeve would be nice.

Your base electronics are simply too good to want to deviate from.

(If I had to do a mod with slots I'd skip the mambo ECF holes, do vents at top, middle, bottom. The rationale is that it is actually the battery ends that are the vent points. It sounds like the powers that be are at least open to discourse on the topic. But that is just me :) )

At this point I do not really CARE what ECF wants
This.

I've been away for a bit, and come back to this ......ed fiasco - I feel for ya Mike. One isolated incident involving someone else's junk and everybody goes haywire?

Some people should just go back to smoking (read: die a slow death).
