The info from the last link that I posted, came from the laser modders forums. They tested the batteries rated at 600mah, and found it to be 300mah. I then googled for the battery, to get you a link.
I will search more tomorrow. It is late, and I want to load Onlive on my iPad2 and Kindle Fire before I crash for the night.

Mike if you can get the 16340's at IP diameter and keep it at 4" I think you git a winner. You said 4" to the tip of the 510 connection, right? That's 1 1/4" off the IP or on my IP, right a the "P" in Pro.

This is exactly what would work! but i worry about the battery slack as the current diameter of the ipro would be very snug for the 16340s.
i still suggest stepping up the tube outer diameter to 19mm or even 20mm, which is a happy medium.(Ipro=18mm, BP=21.8mm). It'll at least be almost as skinny as the ipro but also have some kind of slack for the batteries. Also, assuming the length to start will be the same size as the BP, a flush top cap would most likely shorten it enough to make it closer to 4" in length depending on the design of the flush top cap.
kp, he's already at 4". Using SS allows the tube to be thin to keep the OD down.
It has 1mm of slack for the 16340 batts so a 17mm ID more than enough room IMO .5,, wall Stainless steel , we will also have painted COLORS for you all ( including some PINK for the ladies )

Too bad 152xx batts didn't work, would have been a cleaner product differentiation.
Low price, fixed cap, batt life around 2.5 - 3ml, new product.
Slim, long, variable cap, long run time, IP.
Larger diameter, short, variable cap, long run time, BP.
IP and BP the direct siblings, new product shorter, cheaper but cannot just stuff in higher mah batts to basically be a fixed cap BP.

So if you go the hybrid BP/IP route, does that mean you'll discontinue those?
Can't complain about IP OD and BP length with same guts for $70 - definitely a HUGE win, just can't see a use for IP or BP at that point.

Oh, I can't see the IP going away. It is too good a device. Fits perfectly in my hand. A smaller unit is good for being out-and-about, but I can't see using it at home.
The search continues for batts or a design that is boosted , this is gonna take some time !
Yep that is a MAJOR size reducer !I COMPLETELY forgot that it was going to be made of SSmy bad!
