It's got a tiny rattle! I've never seen one this big with so few rattles.

It's now resting peacefully in the very back of the freezer. I can honestly say that was the easiest thing I have ever cleaned. Used scissors, cut right down the middle and viola... cleaned, rinsed and done!

Poor thing! I hope you at least eat it! :(

poor puppy.... How old, how big, male or female????? I luvs rotties. My boy is 11 months and 110 pounds... Good thing your dogs were out with you huh...

My girl is 13 and about 80lbs. She isn't full blood, has some hound in her. It shows, she's a lazy ...., lol. I'm very lucky they were outside. Had they not been....really between the cicada singing and the water hose, I don't think I would have heard him at all. This isn't the first run in with a snake she has had in her lifetime. I have found more dead than I have had to take care of. She has been bit twice, both times above the neck and came through with flying colors.

Rattlesnake / Southern Style

egg
salt
garlic salt
oil (frying)
accent seasoning

5/8 cup milk
pepper
flour
1 rattlesnake

Cut in 4 inch lengths, beat egg and milk, mix salt, pepper, garlic salt, Accent and flour, preheat deep fat fryer with cooking oil, dip snake into egg mixture and then in flour mixture, and place it in hot oil, cook until golden brown.

I have used this recipe. It is pretty good....:)

Now that sounds absolutely yummy! Real close to what I use for back strap. I add in a little garlic ;)

Hib...sorry to hear about the snake and your dog...sure hope your dog is okay. I am just a few miles from you and am constantly worried about my dogs and snakes. This time of year is expecially bad when it is so hot. My neighbor killed one last week that was at least 4 feet.

She is perfectly fine. The little cut had enough blood to spot the wet rag a few times and it hasn't had any signs of swelling. Vet said I should know if it was going to do something in the first few hours, but keep a close eye for 12-24. Pretty sure she is in the clear :)

Can't like this 'cause this has been such a bad year here too for snakes.

Hibby, you are one brave cookie!
I do so hope the rottie will be OK.. reminds me to get my pups snake vacs.

All this snakey talk is gonna make me break out the combat boots to wear with my shorts...
won't that be sexy! ;)

I'll be tending the garden in my knee high Muck boots fer sure!!

Poor thing! I hope you at least eat it! :(

Dats da plan! Sorry, Max, but with 4 kids running around and 2 dogs.....if it's poisonous I don't let it pass. We have pretty big bull snakes, those are fine!

eatting the snake?

Yeppers!

Tomato sauce is one of those things that tastes better the next day when all the spices have a chance to meld and whatnot. :toast:

Well this ought to be fun, my nephew wants to move into the house I moved out of so I need to run and fix the AC.
The blower wheel went out just B4 we moved out so I'll be limping up the latter and removing the whole blower housing to replace the blower wheel (I call it the squirrel cage)
I already bought the wheel...$160.00
See you all later!!!
