quorax, have you polished your lux yet. I saw a post and picture of yours a few days ago and you hadn't then after a month of use.

but I would refrain to do that in a v1 unit, the plastic insulators could be deformed and create a short.

So THIS what happened with my Spheroid (v2 first batch)!

I've been tinkering with it for 2 days and it always gave me short. I've been using this Spheroid for months so it was really frustrated - and I began to question my Spheroid's coil building skill :p. Finally fixed it by switching the insulator (top to bottom, vice versa)... but I think I'll need the replacement kit soon, the insulator looks... tired.

The first batches of v2 (not v1 as I typed by mistake) had plastic insulators that wear out if the user tightens them a bit more, but the new PEEK ones are the hardest kind of plastic we could find and you cannot have any kind of short with them.

The work of this exceptional British modder is highly praised in Europe, good luck guys :)

JC West on Doodlebug:

UPDATE: If my memory serves right, the description page of the Doodlebug SE (page N/A now) stated that the Centre Post of this version is Brass - but triple coated with precious metals... Silver, then 24K Gold and topped up with Rhodium coating.

No, not yet mate.... for two reasons: 1)I want to see how far it goes; 2)Didn't have the time (out of vaping and refilling the tanks):)

So soon mate?

Was wondering the same!
I haven't 'touched' my LUX any other way yet but to vape... no wash, no polish, no rubbing, nothing. I glance at the internals once a while while changing bats - and everything still looks all bright & shiny, including the inside walls of the tube.

Bingo Q. It can always be polished. I have some nice non abraisive silky polish from Italy. I have used it on a few devices - mostly gg buttons and rings but something special about the PAPS. Im just interested like you to see what it becomes.

Correct.
Polishing time........... not yet.

The v2 serial numbers begin around 150-160 and up to 500-600. It stopped on July of 2012 and started again after 6 months as v2.1.

The differences between v1 and v2 are about the button, the knurling on the ring and the tube. The v1 is made from 304 SS, the v2 is made from 303 SS. The v2 tube has internal grooves to facilitate the potential gases to escape through the air vents. The v2 serial numbers begin around 150-160 and up to 500-600. It stopped on July 2012 and started again on 18 February 2012 as v2.1

The button of v1 has an air hole and its axis, the firing pin has a socket for the spring, contrary to v0. There is an initial v0 without engraving, 400-500 units circulated in Hellas and Germany from September 2011 - April 2012 and is made from aluminium or 304 SS welded tubes with brass top cap and brass switch.

V1. The pics I've seen at least make me believe that is what it is.

Sent from a happy vaper.
