Hello guys. I see there are a lot of regulars here so excuse my budging in. I just saw the piccolo/spheroid combo a few days ago and never knew there was such a nice 14500 mech + rebuildable combo out there with great user feedback. This would be my going-out mod due to it's sleek elegance, less conspicuous size, and good reputation. I'm so glad I caught it right around the time of a batch release.

Now from what I understood from perseas' advance update thread this will be the last piccolo batch, so for sure I'm going to try to get one (this is my first venture in purchasing a high-end, high-demand, low-supply mech mod). I don't know if I'll be able to afford both the spheroid and piccolo in one shot or how fast GP product batches fly off the shelves after release times, so will there be other spheroid batches and about how long does it usually take? About how long would I have a piccolo (if I manage to grab one) without a spheroid?

WELCOME! Feel free to come over and hangout anytime! We are a low pressure thread!
I think you have made a good decision with the Piccolo, it is sleek, durable, pretty and just feels great in the hand. I do not think this will be the last batch forever! I think GP is perfecting the switch much like the improvement on the PAPS. They are incredibly busy as there is alot on their plate. The wait is well worth it. The releases are handled in such a way that many contries get a chance at the purchase. Also, please visit www.vapourart.com to check the new US supplier. A new spheroid batch is soon on the way. Perseas is here almost daily to answer questions and hang out a bit (mostly to tell me to shut the hell up and Qorax to post more pictures of hot women:).)

The sale dates are crowded but it is a more sophisticated group that knows how not to F5 before letting the page load. If you are ready at the time there should be no problem and like I said all time zones are taken care of so if you miss yours find another one.
Again, Welcome

I don't take my Paps out of the house. I keep it stored in a cloth bag and I take it out at night and handle it delicately. If it put it in my pocket around the house, it gets the pocket all to itself.

I have dedicated pocket PAPS for an empty pocket as Armirite mentioned and indoor models! I'm not sure you could tell the difference as they are kept well. My early version PAPS are pretty nice.

All sunshine cloths, nothing else (except soap).

Fantastic match yes.

I did wash everything with warm soapy water before the brasso but just rinsed the contacts separately with just warm water.

I just never washed the brasso off.

I also soak my parts in grain alcohol after polishing. I use Spirytus because its what I can find locally but anything 95% and above works too. Dries quickly and doesn't leave paper towel lint in the threads.

Thanks, I did all of the above but didn't wash after the brasso just used a cloth to polish it off. Should I have washed the brasso off before polishing it ?

Sorry, I didn't read this correctly before. You should polish AND buff with whatever is left of the brasso, then wash the part with the dish soap. You'll need to dry it to prevent water mineral spots (unless you use purified, distilled, RO water, or grain alcohol to rinse). Again just pat dry

Just don't use a circular motion. Place the sunshine cloth on a clean paper towel and a solid flat surface and rub back and forth in a straight line.

Which way do you rub the tube? Lengthwise from top to bottom or do you push the side of the tube back and forth? How do you get a scratch out?

Would it be Nice if we could also buy Sectional Tubes from Perseas, as accessories, for 18500 and 18650 batteries?

B'coz, I'd love to have extended battery life, but without losing out the happiness of holding my 'original' serial numbered mod.

Just thinking...

I want to +1 this except for the Piccolo. I'd love an 14650 mode! I could have sworn there used to be an 14650 Piccolo but I was probably dreaming that :)

I'm bouncing back and forth on buying either a Nemesis or GP PAPS Lux. I was going to wait for the Caravela alternate list to open at the end of July or early August, but both the Nemesis and GP PAPS seem designed better with the adjustable posts and plated contacts.

Would I be able to buy the GP PAPS switch and top cap without the 2.5 parts, so I could buy the GP PAPS Lux parts and assemble it? Doesn't make sense to pay for the GP PAPS 2.5 parts and then toss them to replace with the Lux parts. Also, with the flat top cap, what do I need in order for the top to vent? Do I have to sit the atomizer slightly above the top cap to allow airflow underneath the atomizer?

Just buy both and sell the one you don't like. That's what I did. Just wanted to try a bunch of the new mods.

The Lux top cap has square grooves for airflow so the atomizer can sit flush.

GP PAPS LUX switch on the LUX is 24k Gold over Silver plated Brass GP Telescopic Centre post and a 24k Gold over Silver plated Brass GP PAPS button and is only available on the PAPS Lux. You are correct that you would have to replace the parts in a switch and save the parts for a spare kit if needed.

You could simplify the situation and just buy the GP Lux and this will solve the buttom and top cap issue you have.
Both cross top caps and flat top caps are available when in stock. The flat top would be for an atty that has air holes on the sides. Bottom vented atty's will not work. Kayfuns, GG's and and most drippers will work on the falt top with all others such as the Spheroid and others need to be fitted with the crosstop.
I am no fan of gaps in devices as it doesnt look good and screwing a 510 3/4 in would be a pita to keep at that level unless you decided it was a good idea to find a washer and use it. imo a bit wonky and half assed.

All of the mods you described are nice mods so the decision is up to you. I owned a Nemesis. I own several PAPS. I will buy more.

Good Luck

Welcome buddy, we strive to combine the limited release of GP Piccolo 14500 mods with the batch of GP Spheroid atties, that shall happen as soon as we have them all. The GP Piccolo will not stop to be produced, but the current switch will be redesigned to match with the v2.5 switch of her bigger sister GP PAPS v2.5.

I want to +1 this except for the Piccolo. I'd love an 14650 mode! I could have sworn there used to be an 14650 Piccolo but I was probably dreaming that :)

We observed the battery charts and the 14650 batteries haven't any significant gain over the 14500 ones, so we won't make 14650 tubes. The GP Piccolo v1 and v2 circulated in 14650 mode indeed, they were requested by the VaporWall members and 100 units were produced.

Yeah, any news on the next batch? Dying to throw my money at you!@

LOL, we are assembling switches right now and when we finish them, we'll know the exact date. We are waiting some spares also to be polished, the only ready thing is the SnP tanks, but we try to have multiple items in one run to save you guys some shipping cost :)
If they are not ready soon enough, we'll proceed with the batch of SnP tanks solely at the end of this week.
