Don't mean to COMPLETELY derail the discussion but get much better results by poaching in a boiling pot of water with a little vinegar. :)

What's the best way to take the switch apart for cleaning? Whenever I try to turn the screw the whole button spins. I guess when I receive the forceps I ordered for making coils, I can use it to hold the nut in place. Should be a couple days.

The switch on my GP SS has become a little sticky. In fact last night, I put it down while it was still on and burned out all of my juice before I noticed. When I picked it up, it and unscrewed the atty, everything was hot. Don't know if the internals of the switch got dirty or some juice got in there but I've never had any problems with the Lux. Switch has always been flawless even after accidentally dropping it switch first onto a concrete floor.

Once I get it apart, I plan on cleaning with water then 98% isopropyl alcohol if that sounds good.

looks nice, though imo brushed brass/bronze is not a good idea, it will eventually patina then you have to brush it again to keep the finish, which is much more abrasive than a simple polish

i plan on just letting it patina for awhile. i was just curious. But i will not be doing this to my serialized 18350 tube though

Hi Perseas,

I hate to be "that" guy who has all the problems, but the button on my GP Paps 2.5 just unthreaded itself and fell out. I managed to find the button, spring and nut, but i'm having problems with getting it put back on properly.

If I thread the nut down snug, the button travel is <0.5 mm - i can barely feel it actuate. If i un-thread it so that the button thread is just proud of the nut, I get "factory" button travel, but it comes undone very quickly. After using it for a 1/2 day or so, it unthreaded far enough that if i set it down on a flat surface (my desk), it fires.

Any advise on keeping the nut in place?

thanks,
chris

The best way is make sure the nut is "cup down" and install. Then get some needle nose pliers and give a couple swift sharp counter clockwise turns while holding the button from spinning. This happens once in a blue moon but very little since I started that. There is a very light weight lock tite(not the permanent type) that may work but I wouldn't recommend it as cleaning is more important to me.

Needle nose pliers! push on button while turning clockwise with a couple of swift jerks- reverse thread!

brodaho is right, the nut only goes on one way, put it on the wrong way and it will stick up above the plunger, thats how you know its on wrong. my gf somehow unscrews hers and the buttons fall out all the time for her, but not for me, I'm pretty sure its bc when i put batts in i take off the top cap and atty and put them in, and she takes off the switch, either that or shes playing with it or something, i dunno.

Me?... I can damage almost anything with almost anything... If I'm involved, precautions must be taken. :(
I call bullshti on this brother! you know a thing or two, I've taken note of that.

how is the diver compared to the kf lite

2 completely different vapes. They are both very nice. I can compare genny to genny or dripper to dripper, etc. but, they are two different delivery systems to me. I enjoy the diver quite a bit as once set up properly there is very little to no maintenance and the vape is a cleaner taste. Believe it or not the tank has a role on its own as well.
My lites are nice and producers but occasionally the dry hit or leak out of the blue, filling can be a pita. But I like both of mine.
The diver tends to have none of these issues and I have seen long time vapers give up many attys for a diver.
Actually, a better comparison would be Spheroid to Kayfun....imo Spheroid wins hands down. The best flavor ever, leaks are impossible,
I can drip it or use it as a genny, mass vapor production, ease of set up, easy to maintain.
Im not just saying this because the question was asked on the this thread. I have been asked privately the same question and I answer the same.
Enjoy :)
