For those of you that are using something other than the Diver or Killer in your SnP, what is it?
For those that punch their own..
Do you prefer one or two holes?
Or is two holes just better?
The answer to this as my pea brain also operates at a slower pace, would be this-
I find this to be the case when heating the silica at a faster pace and not producing enough heat to burn the juice quick enough and producing build up. Coming from ss mesh to eko or silica wick for anyone there is a bit of a curve, you know this. SS mesh is a bit more forgiving on the more aggressive or "thicker" made juices and seems to continually burn the "gunk" on the wick. Silica base medium tends to get hot burn the juice off and leave a bit more of residue that is not burnt off than mesh. And it collects and rests until the next vape when more juice on top of what wasnt burned off.
We know that ss set ups heat up faster and get hotter as the mesh is a conductor and burns a bit more of the juice product. Silica heats up slower and cools faster which allows a dirtier burn if you will.
The curve comes in here Longer hits at a slower pace would help a bit.
I have come to rinsing off/dryburn my silica wicks a minimum of once a week. This provides a tastier cleaner vape and my wicks last much longer and look new even after a couple weeks. It is a sacrifice but silica needs more maintenance period. I will always be faithful to the genny/mesh set up as you because we know when they hit...they hit.
It has to be the way in which she is vaping. Cartos work on the same theory, they also get black as hell if they were used like we vape now.
on another note....got some dyi today!
. I know its not the devices, I thought it might be the juice but I vape the same juice as well.... I;m going to redo hers with thicker ekowool and see if that helps bc i'm not sure if i can get her to vape differently though
I've had my Lux for over 2 months now and absolutely love it. The patina on the tube started getting bad so I decided to use some brasso to polish it up. Well, like a genius, I used a scotch brite scrub to apply the brasso and gave it a good rub around the tube. I then used a old white t-shirt to polish it. I was left with a shiny tube but it now has tiny visible scratches all around the tube.
Was wondering what do you guys use to remove theses scratches? Do I have to use sand paper or can I just use something to buff out the scratches?

Diver and killer here.
Your other choice is a Cartomizer. I would look at the Boges although honestly, I feel SMOK's are more consistent with their dual coil cartos. Their fluff is easier to poke with a sharp syringe to fill as they are looser rolled.
Boges were a disaster. Worst money I ever spent. Couldn't for the life of me get them to wick after priming. Maybe got a bad batch. Smoks are ok and when filled with an IBT "thingy" perform well. Want to try some IKVs but they are having website issues.
Guess I will eventually have to spring for a diver or killer.
Now, the questions is.....Killer of Diver?

They are both good units but I prefer the Diver as to it is a bit easier to set up and go. The Killer 705 the juice flow is dialed in by adjusting the tube by screwing it down or unscrewing it. I do enjoy the option of the extended tube on the killer. But, there is a hole punched in the diver and this eliminates guessing optimum juice flow.
I have a couple Divers now and a killer in use....I just ordered another Diver from Konstantinos if this helps you to know where my loyalty is. I got the Killer in trade and see myself selling soon.
As kiba mentions and some of the others will, set up is everything. Either way get to know NR and R wire and how to weld or tie a wire.
Scott/Igetcha69 has an Ody video that shows around the 6 minute mark how to "tie" the wire to use for any of the GG, Diver, killer, etc. attys.

quick question for all the smart people in here.... my gf's spheroid and kayfun always get their coils gunked up super fast, she usually vapes diy's, her banana colada or vanilla custard in either, which, when I vape those flavors it takes several tanks before I have to dry burn, meanwhile hers need to be cleaned after like half a tank. I've traded with her for a day to try and see if it was the wick/coil setup causing it, but when we both came home that night her spheroid which I was using was fine, but my ithaka which she was using was all gunkified, so it must be something that she's doing. She's used to it by now and just cleans them daily but to me it tastes like crap and I'm just wondering what could she be doing that is causing this? The only real difference between the two of us vaping-wise is that I mostly take lung hits while she usually does a mouth draw, then lung inhale, also she vapes quite a bit more than me but not an excessive amount. I know if i can get this figured out she can have a much more enjoyable vape.
Kiba,
Gunk on coils is primarily from sweeteners. Think about what happens to sugar when heat is applied... It caramelizes. Some flavorings can also add to the gunk, but at the end of the day, it's vaping those sweet juices hard and heavy that contribute most to the gunkification (yes, I just coined that one!).

He knows this Brother N! He was just testing me..... He and GF Ms S vape the same juices because she makes him whip out the best DIY that side of the Mississippi....and they be sweet and damn good. This I know today for a fact.
Kibro, not moving until I have to refill. Just so you know. No Ody V1 drip for me, I set up a fresh Ithaka for this.![]()

Gunkification (gunk-eh-feh-cay-shun) - in it's literal translation means the applying of excessive amounts of gunk.
Seems legit to me
Vape On!

is that a D20 in there? also, nice purse![]()
