So my switch on my LUX fell apart in my hands tonight. I had to laugh as it gave me a reason to fully inspect the switch. No, this does not sway my opinion of the LUX in the least. I have to know though, as I am sure it is from my fiddling with the locking mechanism, what can I do to eliminate or prolong the loosening of the nut on the inside of the button?

Again, i am still getting comfortable with the lock ring, and getting it down to one flick instead of turning it all the way out. I am sure this is what caused my issue, because I am just not believing it is faulty.

Besides locking and unlocking correctly, is there anything I need to be doing to the button to prevent the nut from loosening?

Thanks in advance! :D

Finally got a coil to work! Quick question, why does the lead to the first coil glow like a hot spot. Its not on the mesh, but the leg leading to the connection

It is a long lead hot spot! It typically happens on the mesh to positive post lead. The most common cause is the length of the wire to the post. Try and wrap the wire counter clock wise around the post and bring the wick as close as you can to the post without touching. I wrap them so close on my genny's I cant see a space. Counter clockwise around the post from your last wrap is important because it allows control and the ability to pull the wick towards the post and not "push" it. GL!

Best way ever - Grab some needle nose and sharply tighten it a couple times while holding the button in. It works, your not the first!.
No locktite!

Happened to me too. If you torque the locking ring, it tends to turn the button, which tends to then turn the button which turns against the locking nut.

I make it a habit to hand tighten the locking nut whenever I'm replacing the battery. An 8mm socket head, no wrench, will keep the nut in place pretty well.

Hey digitals, I used to have that problem with my four 2.5 buttons. What cured it for me was after I tighten the locking nut down by hand, I hold the button with a piece of rubber shelf liner and use a small neetle nose pliers to give the locking nut a quick snap to the left. That seems to set it. In any case I no longer have that Issue.
As far as the locking ring, it is made to be used and shouldn't cause the the lock nut to come loose. If you are not already doing so, try loading the battery from the top. This puts a small amount of pressure on the button and keeps it from coming loose when you turn the locking ring. Also, there is no need to tighten the locking ring in either direction, just give it a little freedom and it will love you.

Good luck my friend

I concur on bringing the wick as close as possible to the post. I had the same issue with the AGAT2!

Well I know I've been fairly quiet on this thread (apart from the quick discussion about cotton wicks), mainly due to embarrassment. So far I've not had a suitably sexy topper to fit my Lux, this has led to feelings of inadequacy and self-imposed hermit status.

But now, thanks to the amazing pictures mainly from qorax, I've finally come out of my shell and ordered a Kayfun lite. Hopefully it should be in my hot hands tomorrow (from the great peeps at cloud9vaping). Finally I can hold my head high in the esteemed company of this thread, gone are the feelings of jealousy and remorse. My lovely Lux will no longer be sat on the shelf, she's coming out of the shadows finally

Seriously though, thanks to all you guys and gals for such a great thread

I just felt the Lux deserved something better than a nova or a protank. My ithaka still has occasional bladder problems and the aga just doesn't seem to look right on the Paps. I will eventually pick up a spheroid for it, but the piccies from qorax look so damn sexy with the Lite, how could I resist

I just got something in last night that looks to finally be what I want to top my Lux with. This is just a teaser... pics will come later when I can get it complete. ;)

That's just evil, keeping us hanging like this

You could at least give us a clue. I hate surprises, Christmas was always a nightmare for me.
