Just FYI,

I received my solution to the SS switch problem I was having a few days ago. I forgot to post, sorry.

Tore the switch down completely, rebuilt with new parts. Perfection!

I've been trying to give equal love to both my GPs, so using the SS was important. Yes, it was hard to put the LUX down.

Thanks Perseas for the quick response, and thanks Blake @ Domo for your quick provisions. I will be returning the old internals for inspection.

I love my paps lux 2.5 and ss 2.5. I have a topper tho that that has 3 lines of knurling that would match up with the old 2.1 perfectly. I am very spoiled to the lovely buttons on the 2.5 versions. How does the 2.1 compare? I know 2.1s are not in demand much anymore so if I track one down, I am likely stuck with it for the long haul so want to find out what I can from those who have both or tried them side by side.

I have several 2.1s. sense the 2.5 appeared I haven't used them much, but in IMO if you don't mind locking them before you stand them up, they are a great switch. GP quality my friend...GL

Performance wise both r ditto... the v2.1 & v2.5 switches. Both fire equally good... same principle.

Look wise, hmmm... it'd be personal preference... the v2.1 is traditional (many mods have it), thus one in the collection will give us a feel of what it was. While the v2.5 is contemporary... has that 'wow factor'! Unique to the GP line, none has it replicated so far.

Operability wise, the v2.5 is better. The ability to keep the mod upright w/out having to lock it is priceless! The throw is minimal... very 'touch' like -- v2.1 isn't anything like that feel. It's lock ring is also 'one flick' designed... v2.1 needed a full rotation. Thus, the v2.5 is minimalistic and easy to use.
