Digi - there also is a fine line in tolerance in the mechanics inside the tube. The adjustment of the telescopic screws so the battery is too tight will also cause your issue and you will feel a stiffer not smooth switch throw. It will also cause the button to fire unnecessarily as your switch will protrude the drunken notches(not to be confused with Nachos) just enough to fire when set down or in a pocket. This also will solve your issue if Cman's didnt.

I agree with your #1!! That's all I've been rocking lately, but then again, I stay in the 1.2-1.8 ohm range on my coils.
OK dumb question... I have an AW IMR battery that must be just a little taller (18350) am I better off to have a slight gap between the switch and the tube or the top cap and the tube? I've only noticed this on one battery so far..but just checking

The gap remains even after adjusting the telescopic screws on the top cap?
I guess a better question would be which device is it, and what spare screws did it come with?
For reference:
I use AW IMR in 350 mode constantly, and I've yet to encounter a gap on either side of the tube. However, I can't recall if the SS came with the slim spare screw as did the LUX.

You can adjust the little thumb screw under the top cap to adjust to the height of your battery & it will let you screw everything in flush. Do you have the thicker bottom thumbscrew on yours or the thinner one? Mine came from Domo with the thick one installed &:the thinner one in the baggie. I changed mine to the thinner one, so I could adjust the top thumb screw to allow my SNP tank to sit flush & adjusted the thinner bottom thumb screw up to allow my battery to fit with everything flush....does that make any sense at all?

Absolutely makes sense. That's what I was asking. I had both. I purchased both the SS and the LUX so I had a few spares. As the pic shows above, the screw closest to the cap adjust for flush mount, and the thinner screw adjust for battery position.
You're saying that you still have a gap no matter the adjustment made?
Yes, the SS PAPS comes with the extra spare thin one.....at least mine did & that's what Iowa has too. When I first got mine, I had no idea about the spare thinner one & had the same problem....took me a bit to figure it out.

OP, if you sift through the posts that followed your original, you should find the solution. Seems as if you need to switch out the adjustable (fatter) screw for the slimmer one in the spares bag.
Should resolve any/all gaps. If the problem persists, post some pics of your setup so we can view and assist
