I've no idea about this pen, does it work for silver plated posts?

A home made electrolysis can be used every one or two months to reverse the chemical reaction that causes the tarnishing on silver, leaving the silver intact. Place the silver plated posts in a glass bowl lined with aluminium foil and fill it with 1/2 litre of boiled water to accelerate the chemical reaction. Add 1/2-1 tablespoon of baking soda and let sit for 10-20 minutes.

I'm American. I have no idea what a litre is...just kidding. :)

The pen seems to work fine, but I'm always looking for something more efficient. I shall give your method a try in the future. A few vapers in the SoCal area use similar products. Its original purpose was to clean optical cables.

Ok, half a quart of water then :)

I am curious about that pen, I'll try to find in Europe.

I prefer rhodium plating. Plating is thin enough that the average conductivity of the rhodium itself should have no bearing on performance.

Yes, we speak here for a difference in the range of millivolts, but it exists. Theoretically, a pure silver post or a copper one would be the best. Their softness might create other issues though.

Good morning my friend!

No, at least for the SS Edition and I don't know, if we make a LUX Edition yet.

Ahh, I was just being raunchy;) It's a gr8 morning in here... the chill has set in, while the fall colors are yet going strong... lookin' heavenly - get's into you! I'm enjoying my vista with my 'X' in one hand - while a Tim Hortons in the other!

No, the 'X' is splendid the way it is. Looks gr8 ~ feels right. That 15+ microns of Silver is definitely a force-multiplier ~ I can feel the raw power in its steel. B'coz my attys are firing like never before - as if there'll be no tomorrow! This thing is a beastly beauty of a mod!

You have surpassed the bar in every department with the 'X' dear Perseas!

My dear friend, your narrative style is quite stunning and alluring for the reader of your posts!

Thank you so much for your appraisal on behalf of PAPS team!

Until 3 years ago, I used to light my first cigarette early in the morning while I was looking at the trees, the sky, observing the changes of the autumn. It makes me happy to know that our creations have added a bit in experiencing the beauty of the day :)

Perseas, your method of cleaning the contacts in the X could not have come at a better time! While cleaning my 2.5 switch last night and adjusting my X for a battery change I was thinking how I'm going to keep that silver looking fresh. I really do notice better hits from the X than the 2.5. Maybe it's placebo effect but it just HITS!!!!! Both are so stunning. I get so many compliments on both if them. And it makes me smile knowing I own something so gorgeous. I'm generally pretty lazy but will stay on top of keeping these things looking sharp. I keep a clear J wrap on my 2.5 and have been in correspondence with Alon about getting a wrap made for the X. He said he was picking one up at Domo so he can get the measurements.

I have deliberately 'chosen' to go 'mechanical', right? I intend staying that way. To me an/y 'electronics' inside my mech-mod would mar the purpose. If I had to ~ I'd've gone the Provari way, wouldn't I?

Although I am a Mech guy myself, (I love LR/SLR vaping) I do see a place for the kick. For those who would rock higher res micro builds, love cardo's in tanks, maybe don't rebuild a all, (can't imagine..lol) and don't want to go the "Provari way", but want the beauty and elegance of our beloved GP Paps, I say Kick it and enjoy... This is just my opinion, but I believe no matter what topper, or build someone chooses a GP/Perseas creation will make it look better...

It hits slightly better than the v2.5, it isn't a placebo effect :)

I am glad you are proud of them, this is fuel for us to work harder.

Perseas, I wanted to say thank you for creating the wondefully amazing switch on my PAPS 2.5 & Lux! I have used a certain makers mods for quite awhile now & use to wake up with pain in my hand & wrist from firing the button so much the day before. But since using my GP mods, I no longer have that problem. Very happy to be able to say that & even more happy to own your amazing mods!! :)

Thank you very much for your feedback, I've read somewhere that a vaper pushes the button of his mod about 1500 times per day and if the numbers are real, a stiff button would certainly cause an issue in the long run.

You've just described me exactly :D I'm unlikely to ever rebuild, but have an X and Kick, with an SnP and carto on top. The Paps-X feels marvellous to hold and I adore its simple beauty and elegance.

Wouldn't a wrap for X be a pain because of the various battery configurations or are you a creature of habit and stick with one X setup? I'm really new, going on my second day or so of use and can't speak on it hitting any differently between the two but I am in love with the feel of the SS Paps v2.5 switch!

Scott Bonner was spot on when he talked about the X's switch no matter where you press it, pushes in evenly. But the fingertip touchy switch keeps me coming back to the SS-2.5. Keep in mind, I'm only on day two, folks. With small cartos no less. I should get 4 boxes of laser slotted Boges in today while the sophia is enroute to Amish country. So I'll toss that into the SnP or Phiniac later today. Whoever registered me on X's site from Amish Country made my day.

Should I disassemble the SnP and clean it before using it for the first time? I'm not much of a purist you can say, generally if it looks clean I use it. Come to think of it the last time I boiled something, was some macaroni 'n cheese the other night. Thanks to threads like http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...notifications-tips-tricks-updates-thread.html I'm changing up the way I do things.

Hindsight is 20-20 I just wish I had dove into Mechanicals and rebuilding earlier. Too timid, I suppose. Didn't wanna land myself on the six o'clock news because I did something boneheaded. If I had a dollar for everytime an error code popped up on my 'vari I'd have some good pizza money right about now.

My first taste of RBAville was with a Z-Atty-Pro genny back in Feb, which incidently was my first experience with Boba's Bounty (former Bobaholic here). BB turned me onto dripping. Dripping turned me onto Reos (bottom juice feeding box mods). After clocking in 7 months straight with a Variable Voltage Reo Grand, I had a decision to make. Try a mechanical Reo or a mechanical non-bottom feeder. In the end, I'll probably use both but I choose GP over a Reo because of the various delivery devices out there that I wanna explore.

There's got to be a reason I keep seeing the same things over and over again, it can't just be for aesthetics. I wanna try a KFL KF3.1 Ithika Spheroid Sophia Rose etc but the bread and butter is in the build, thats where you folks come into the picture 'n shine. I'm content in knowing there are threads with answers waiting for me out there, now it boils down to practice practice practice. Making some friends along the way, too.

Thanks for putting up with my disjointed ramblings. I may have a learning disorder.

Redhat, the wrap would be made in sections so the seams still work. He has them for the nemesis as well which is similar in build. Different sections for different batteries.

Now I get it  Yeah that would work. So in honor of your name, I may try a wrap one day, that looks like wood. Then I could slap on an Adela Drip tip to complete the look :p But for now I'm so thrilled by my 2 GP Paps mods that I'm exploring engraving so I can put RhP on my mod!

You said it, Redhatpat. Every atty with which I am happy today sucked on the first 10-20 builds. Now, I get every Diver, every Ithaka, every Spheroid just right.

I never got the hang of the KFs, so I sold or traded them, but most folks do get them, so that's on me.

Thanks for the props and the preview of whats to come. I'd even venture to say it ain't on you as much as it's on your juice. Anything that can handle a complex eliquid like BB is a pleasure to use with any other juices, that's for sure. I'm using a non-NET now that contains some PG so it's giving a new life to things I avoided with BB in the past. I'm sure the same holds true for the various RBA builds out there.

I'm so excited I can't wait, brother. But above all else, I'm patient when it comes to this enviornment. Baby steps, ya know. Temporary poverty also helps to keep tabs on vape budget hands and is a very sobering experience. I generally care more about what people think of my mods online than I do with the average fella in public but I can now testify that if I lost all connection to the interwebs and all you tiny vapers who live inside my iPad, I would still be carrying my GP Paps around proudly!

Just a sneak preview from our R&D adventures.

The last days we keep breaking various routing cutters, knife blades and drills of extreme hardness, trying to tame a 25 mm titanium rod grade 2. Finally, we found the cutting speed, it is 5 times slower than the one needed for the 316 SS rods of GP PAPS X, a very time consuming process. If we ever achieve to make a mod from these rods, it will be a quite limited edition for sure! Tomorrow we shall try the engraving process.
