I'm not sure I ever reported back on this...A while back I wrapped the ekowool in a thin strip of 500 ss mesh. I was mainly checking the wicking and if the mesh would hold the
juice or more
juice on the coiled portion of the wick. I also wondered if it would allow the wick to last longer.
While there is a bit of a "cool" factor in the looks, I quickly found that the setup is probably not worth the extra time. The coiling is much easier and the heated surface area on the wick is def larger but...., with the size of the bell and air chamber perfectly designed there is no benefit imo.
The coil/wick is already going to produce x amount of vapor which is genorous and I didnt see a noticable difference in speed in which the coil/ss heat up, vapor production or flavor. In fact I enjoy ekowool flavor over ss wick flavor all day.
I also find no better wicking or ability to hold the juice. I think mathmatics would prove that your coil and only burn x amt of juice in a givin time.
There is a good video in this thread that shows the same set up with a ton of vapor but I am willing to bet that I can and have produced equal or more vapor with some of my setups using ekowool.
In closing I think much of the reason that the Spheroid was developed was for simple set up, simple maintenance and for a quality vape. I find no reason to add another step of adding another variable to the quick set up. Thanks Perseas.
I have posted this pic before but this is vapor production with only ekowool wick and no mesh.
