I'm sure I'm doing something very stupid with the SnP, since others seem to be getting this just fine. So, being a typical stubborn Greek, I just ordered about a kilogram of the little Viton O-rings, and I'll probably spend the following weekend bringing this SnP to heel.

Share with us my fellow Hellene what is wrong with your SnP. Maybe it is our fault, not yours.

I'd be glad to fix yours also buddy.

Thank you Perseas, really appreciate ! Just a quick update - took the switch apart, assembled it again and it's waaaay better ! I'd say the issue is gone. I will clean it properly as soon when I have some time and in case it will happen again, I'll let you know. But I feel it won't be necessary. Thank you !

That would be a first! I have a pack of 50 O-rings coming in, I will keep trying at it and if I can't figure it out, I'll get back to you.

Every problem I've had with high-end equipment and methods has ended up taking practice or figuring out what I was doing wrong.

kayfun 3.1: Leak after leal after leak. Finally figure out how to fill it properly, and now it never ever leaks.

Zapper: in the beginning, almost all my welds wouldn't hold. After about 30 R/NR wires, I am now at over 90% success rate.

Scuba Diver: Took a few attempts, but now I have the Diver behaving near perfectly, no more leaking out of the Diver post.

GP Paps Lux: I couldn't figure out why it had stopped working, took it apart twice, until I realized the bloody battery had run out while turning my apartment into a Vapor Storage Facility.

And if I can't figure it out, I'll buy you lunch when I'm working from Athens later this year, and we can figure it out together!

You're welcome, I am a pm or email away, just in case the fix is temporary.

I want you to have it working much sooner, and I'd be nice to see you in Athens.

Holy cow brother! But, it seems you always figure it out and do not give up. You will laugh when you get it figured out.
We will all have lunch. When my doctors let me go here and after my family in Italy has enough of me, I am still going to bug Perseas for a few until he kicks my ....

Cheers buddy :)

You dont really have to worry about the gold coming off, thats going to happen eventually as gold is very soft, the good news is that there is silver under there and brass under that, which silver is actually a better conductor than gold, if it all wears off then you still have a brass contact which is plenty good on its own. I think perseas is being really nice (as usual) to replace the ones where they have worn a little bit but most of this is user error imo, as I said gold is very soft and is going to eventually come off if you keep cranking it down onto your atty, and I have a feeling the switch issues would be gone after a good disassembly and cleaning or working it a bit. That said I dont know any other modder who would have replaced those or treats their customers like perseas and the gp crew does.
