What exactly is the difference between the slotted top cap and the flat?

..please don't say one is slotted and the other isn't.

I don't know why, but I figured I had better throw that in before someone gives me the obvious. :D

As simple as that.

Depending on your delivery device, you may not need the slotted cap. Say a Kayfun or Ithaka for example. They have built-in air control.

The flat cap affords a more finished look, if you will.

the Provari will limit you to metering coils over 1.1 Ohms +/- . The Paps can do sub 1.0 Ohms.
You do need a meter for sub 1.0 Ohms for safety reasons, but a regulated device won't help you there.
Im thinking about picking up a porvari mini as well to travel with as I don't have anything to measure resistance with. I dont think I want to bring the paps out of the house.

slotted cap is for atomizers with air holes in the 510 connector threading. flat is for air holes that are higher up on the base or top cap.

Seems to me like I need to pickup that flat cap eventually then. Not sure what other atty I would get. I'm getting it shipped with an SnP, but finding the Killer or Diver is next to impossible.

Caught a glimpse of the Spheroid, and that thing is pure sexy!

yeah, i should get a flat cap... i use virtually no atomizers with hole in the 510 threading; btw Spheroid does. Its basically a cosmetic issue.
the slotted cap is like Universal.

1) We have just discussed getting a small portable multi meter a couple pages back. It is imperative to own one. VV devices are not the solution. just a good back up.
2) I would never suggest to sub ohm unless you are quite confident you understand the mathematics factoring ohms, watts and battery variables. Just because someone can set a coil <1 does not mean they understand the hazards. It can be hazardous.
3) If you are going out of town for an extended period, the best solution is to pre coil several wicks for your devices and carry a few along with you.

1) Agreed 100%
2) Agreed 101%
3) Not me. I cut 10 lengths of Kanthal and pre-burn em and put em in a bag with 10 lengths of silica. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Thats just me tho'. lol :)

So if a guy was to order a Spheroid, he would need a slotted cap?

Is that right, or did I make a bigger mess out of the question..
