After trying out the Spheroid for a while, there's something about the taste that I don't like (sort of like an aftertaste), and since I have used the same liquid and even the same exact wick swapped directly from an Ithaka, I believe it may have something to do with the stock filler material, which for the record, I did boil and even tried leaving in vodka, but it made no difference. Has any body else encountered said problem, and if so, what's the solution?

PS - What's this about a new Lux edition that Perseas mentioned - is it an improved / similar version of the current one or something entirely different?

I am sorry about the taste. I have had no issues. The VapourArt filler imo is the best and have tried others. I have 4 Spheroids and many high end attys including Ithakas. In terms of flavour and all around vape experience the spheroid wins for me. Comparing it to a doodlebug is not fair but the spheroid holds its own.
It is so simple yet amazing.
I have sent a bit of sera wool out and would be happy to send some out to you for comparison. PM me and I can mail some out tomorrow if you wish.
I also would like to know how you are setting it up including the amount of filler. The last I would offer is that it may be your wick (boil that as well) I can send some Ekowool as well if needed.
Check out King P's tips thread as there are setups that may help.

There are other alternatives for the filler material and the wick posted on http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...notifications-tips-tricks-updates-thread.html and I suppose you have opened and cleaned already the interior of the base. An exposed wire, even a bit can alter the taste significantly. Torch your wick, or try cotton.

The new version of the GP Piccolo is redesigned similar to the GP PAPS, while the previous version had the design principles of the GP PAPS X. I have posted about it here.

#Perseas - That was the only thing I didn't do - I could not for the life of me open the base and then forgot about it... Managed to open it now (boy was that stuck) and saw that there was some rust inside. Not sure if I can remove it, and whether it's safe to use it -any thoughts?

#Idaholandho - Thank you my friend for the kind offer! I actually used your tips to build the Spheroid , didn't have any problem other than the odd / annoying aftertaste.

Stupid sideways pics! 

Why is the draw so tight on this thing? I have afc all the way open, and it's still very tight.

Hello there,

Same issue for me, draw very tight... A shame, because I just think this X is a piece of art, very beautiful and pleasant to handle. Did you manage guys to have good airflow with snp + diver ?

Thanks

Great airflow. Is your X air control ring opened up? As Mikes ring appears to be closed down.

Well I've tried both. The maximum airflow is when the ring is down. If I unscrew it to have a flush SnP, there is no air at all

Edit: And I have reduced airflow with Spheroid as well (compared to Paps 2.5)

I don't think it is rust, because the Spheroid is made from 316 SS. Every unit pass through ultrasonic bath and we recommend the unit to be cleaned before the use with a soap solution. There are videos of how to open and clean the Spheroid in our site. The interior of the base, works as a collector tank and it needs to be cleaned initially and occasionally. If it is never cleaned, use a toothbrush and a soap solution, or a ultrasonic cleaner if you have one.

Remember that there are no airflow channels on the base of the Spheroid, so the slotted top cap on the PAPS allows air passage.
A solution for you is to remove the Spheroid and screw the telescopic post all the way into the delrin insulator on the inside top cap. Then add your Spheroid or other atty's. Doing this allows an unnoticeable tiny gap that is hidden. You will now have sufficient airflow. :)

Exactly, I was typing the same answer, thank you Idaho!

The top cap has an inner well, which lips are lower from the externals by 0,10 mm, so you can have a sufficient invisible space between the atty and the mod, if you adjust the positive post upwards enough to create that space.

Yep, that's what I did for testing purposes, but this can't be a long lasting solution. I want my atties to sit firmly on my mods, and thus I would have preferred having deeper notches on the central part of the top cap and bigger holes under the ring ;)
Maybe air flow was just at its maximum with paps 2.5, and I just need to get used to this new and tighter draw ; but I'm still a bit disappointed, thinking that without this problem it would be the perfect mod.

Give me a few hours to think and I'll have a better solution to offer you and to anybody else having the same preference.

Okay, just saw your answer Perseas. Gonna give another try with that. Thanks ;)
