Odd , I've just ever had to touch the end of tubes when putting it together and I've taken it fully apart 100% about 15 times since i got it last month. I could see how many ones pad on their thumb could get squeezed between the tube and top though.

J/K bro. I'm sure it wasn't Perseas' intentions for us to open an artery while trying to assemble the Spheroid. Like I said, I'm probably doing it wrong, but man does it hit well when I'm done.
No one is going to take the clumsy title from me. Paying attention people? No one.
I have nail gunned my hand, had a toe reattached from tiling, set myself ablaze in a fire ball, broken 8 fingers at once, taken shrapnel being a tough guy, fell off my iced over metal roof putting Christmas light up, wife has suture kits on hand and has put 100's of stitches in my body but, never.......never once has any of the Spheroids we own caused damage to this prize.
I am not sure why, and am sorry, but personal Spheroid damage to ones personal self cracks me up. Oh does it ever. You guys are killing me with humor!

I did feel semi-......ed after almost bleeding out from setting up a Spheroid; however, after reading some of your bloopers I don't feel so bad now
Ahh, I think I get it now. I just took the bell off to see how dry my filler was (trying a different size, seems to be working great ) and went to put the top back on and realized how it could slice your thumb up if you braced the tube wrong in your fingers.
I just put my top on until it tightens a bit and has a little bit more to go. Then I screw the tube on the base and finish tightening the top down.

I had an ordeal trying to take my connector apart the first time. Thumb and index looked like they got in a fight with a sheet of paper lol

Update: AFTER I applied a bandaid to my thumb I lubed up a GP DT and successfully installed it in the killer Spheroid.
It was a little snug, and I could see the bottom o-ring starting to bunch up, but with a little wiggle/twist it slipped right in.

I gave my Spheroid a bath now I need to open the bottom so I can dry out the inside. If not completely dried including the inside I see it is causing a short. I can't get the bottom off and tried doing so with the fork. I held the other side with pliers and tried to turn the bottom with the fork as a tool. It is locked shut. Wouldn't turn one bit. Any suggestions? This is starting to get frustrating as it's become an all day project.

Put that in some hot water for 15-20 min it will free it up comes apart much easier then!
After receiving mine I tried to disassemble as well, and it was difficult for the first time.
As stated, it is reverse thread. Go the other way
Grip the posts with needle nose pliers, insert the GP fork in to the holes, and turn it the opposite direction.
It is reverse threaded, I did the same thing...I could not get the fork to turn it either, probably cause I'd over tightened it thinking it was regular threading. I used a pair of needle nosed pliers, with one pointed side in each of the bottom indentations.

I wouldn't recommend gripping the posts. Wrap a clean rubber band around the tank section for more grip.

I received my shipment of Spheroids yesterday. I'd also ordered the V3 screw kits and wanted to update before use. 2 came apart with normal ease, the 3rd however almost got me. I've un-welded several stuck mods over the years but this was the most stubborn unit yet. Finally took the frozen base, wrapped with double sided adhesive tape and put it in a vise. (not for the faint of heart) Since the fork (or holes) would not apply enough torque, I lubed up a atty base and screwed the Spheroid in that. Then applied padded channel locks to the base. I won.
Since then I've been playing with setups. 5 wraps of 30-K1 on a 14ga micro with SnC cotton is working pretty nice.

I believe Perseas suggested this type of action, or perhaps it was a reviewer that performed it while disassembling.
I know, I cringed when I seen it, but I also remembered the quality of GP productions, and knew it could withstand the grip on the posts.
