I bent the heck out of some tweezers trying to get one of mine apart. Ended up using a syringe to flush it with hot water but eventually got it apart later. Mine have some deep scratches from trying to use the forks and needle noses.

Another solution is to find an old ego and screw it on. Keep tightening it on and the base will split.
Before mating the two use a fine/small amount of Vaseline and use it in the threads.
Noalox can suck it

I will send you a new one, I have posted a video, how to open the Spheroid, in our gallery section and in the thread of tips and tricks, but if you haven't a pair of pliers for a better grip, hmm ...
Thanks again Perseas. I saw the video. I have a pair of pliers but not ones that are needle nosed.
Could it be something like this? Needle Nose Pliers. I could pick those up.
Your photo isn't pliers, it's diagonal cutters. For cutting wire and such. I would go to an electronics store (like Frys or RadioShack) for the needle nose pliers. Or a hobby shop. They will have something smaller, and more size appropriate for your task.

I'm wayy excited to play around with the X! I didn't have the Lux for long before it disappeared into the comfortable embrace of someones pocket. Grats on the X! I don't leave the house with ANY of my GP! I once ran the X in the workplace just to spend the day with it, but the more I hold it the more I realize I do NOT want anything to happen to it lol.
