3 spheroids arrived today, thanks for the speedy ship Perseas!

Having a little trouble though, I wrapped my coil the way Scott suggested in his video, but all I'm getting is a heavy wick taste. I re-wrapped at a lower Ohms (2.0 which is still rather high), and same thing. I filled it w/Bobas 18mg, which is on the thicker side, but supposed to be great on the spheroid.

I've wrapped several coils for my Penelope and drips, so I don't think it's bad coiling..

I'm wondering if I may have used too much/little of the spongey material? I basically cut the piece that came with the unit into thirds.. was that correct?

The 4 wicks (from the double wick method) measure 1/4" and seem to be getting saturated, but maybe they're cut too short?

Thanks in advance..

If you torch the wick first, it'll help with that wickie flavor a lot. Then the rest usually goes away pretty quick

"With the spheroid, the amount of filler you use matters quite a bit."

True I have found too much to be more of a problem then not enough. I usually start with just a little wrapped around and if that is not enough I just stuff a little more in from the bottom side. I find this method tends to work the best for me.

I am reposting some helpful instructions about the setup of the Spheroid:

I would like to mention the lasso style by Alexmach, for the wick and I recommend the length of the wick to be equal to the diameter of the Spheroid, no more of 5 cm and no less than 3.5 mm. In that way, you have good wicking and no need to touch the wick during refill.

The best way to avoid hot spots is to put the coil diagonally. (image by Maff)

Here's one tip for twisted coils by Maff:

Pinch the two ends of wire between the thumbnail and finger. Get your allen key (used for opening the spheroid top cap). Stick it in the loop and twist the allen key.

It's so simple but the results are great.

Reading Naked
Before buying a mod I did a lot of research and by far the one that caught my eye was the GP PAPS. I'm currently using the ZEN Mini, but am slowly growing apart from it because of its unattachable tank and "god i have to mod this" switch.. My support goes to you Perseas! Just saw the prototype for the GPPX and my oh my. it's a "less is more" type of feel that it gives me with a "beast" under it all. Can't wait for its release!
I must say, being also a Zenesis fan, I love my PAPS. Such a terrific mod. I rarely put it down. GL

GP Piccolo updates
We are scheduling a new production for the Classic Piccolo v2.5, after we finish the production of GP PAPS X and GP Salt & Pepper.
We have made minor modifications, so it will be a Classic Piccolo v2.6 with the same form factor able to accept 14500 batteries out of specs like EFEST v2.
These changes will have compatibility with previous version 2.5 and v3 as spare parts.

GP Spheroid Updates
We'll have delays to the production of GP Spheroid v2.1 with scratch resistant coating due to the high rate of failure during that treatment. We lost 130 units from the last batch, so we have to reconfigure our approach for the certain coating. Until we improve them, we'll continue to produce v2 with the best materials available, PEEK, 316 SS etc.

There will be an option in a few days for 24 karats gold plated posts and
24 karats gold plated 510 pin connector for a better conductivity.
Although, only one post matters, the positive post, both posts will be gold plated for visual purposes.
And of course the 510 pin connector will be gold plated also.
