Cucco you are in one of the best places for Florida beaching! Naples is gorgeous, and Sanibel Island is pretty awesome too. I grew up in the FL panhandle and spent every summer in my youth at St. George island, Panama City & Ft. Walton Beach. Also lived in Sarasota/Bradenton area for 5 years and spent every weekend on the beach year-around. The Gulf beaches are truly beautiful, although the water's a bit like bath water in the summer - it never really gets cold. Compare that to the Pacific ocean which never warms!
Cucco with your love for animals you should look into doing volunteer work with the wildlife rescue group on Sanibel Island. They rely heavily on volunteers to help them out and they do noble work. It's called CROW - Center for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife. Most of their volunteers pick up rescued wildlife in town & drive the critters out to the island, so that may not be something you can do. But they may be able to utilize your business experience in some way!

Actually, I did go to Naples and Sanibel beaches around 30 years ago, when I came here to visit.
