Last night I gave my X a good cleaning and shine, it has been 3 weeks of at least 18-20 hours of use daily....... I noticed my button is getting "normal use" wear. I almost dropped the button while cleaning and was relieved I did not.

That made me wonder about the future, do you ever make replacement bottom buttons, just the outer button for those that get heavily scratched or dinged?

I also noticed how relatively clean the cloths were after using Cape Cods and then adding a layer of Fitz compared to my other devices. I suppose it has to do with the 316 grade SS you use. I mean the threads which on my other devices usually come out really black, on the X nothing came off. The outer body tubes were a bit oxidized due to moist hands , juice residue on hands etc. Im still being impressed.

I asked that a while back, and P said the tolerances of the X switch are so tight that selling the switch button by itself is not suggested.

Thank you so much all of you guys and gals, this Vapourday was a blast!
We had some problems with the traffic, the product's stock counter froze ... I needed to close the site and reopen it, but the counter remained frozen, although this didn't affect the sales, I removed some units to avoid overselling, at least I hope I did it :D

It still worked better than Obama's website P.

Hey, speaking of switches, i have a lot of squeak when i lock and unlock my X switch. Anybody know what to do for that? Just a dab of nolax? WD40? jk about the WD40... I too have to do a serious cleaning on my X. Dark, dark, dark. I pulled out a 18650 tube i never use the other day and it was blinging!!! I forgot how nice that alubronze looks. Got to get the X back to that color!

No lube needed on the threads and switch. Once you give it a good warm soapy rub down she'll be back to normal again.

Thx Strike! Just out of curiosity, do ya'll use ultrasonic cleaners on GP parts? Seems like maybe i should dump all of those loose parts in the ultrasonic cleaner and just do it in one swoop, but if they need some personal attention with just plain ol' soap and water, then i'll do that. not too sure. still new to GP equipment...

Yes, a UC is definitely a good idea too. P, puts everything through the UC before they are assembled and shipped.

You can do a UC after the warm soapy rub down. Sounds so dirty. Haha.

Like I posted, the X is so "clean" that I dont think its a necessary thing to have to do. The steel stays so clean compared to other the other high end devices I have. An occasional warm water and dish soap bath should keep it performing well. The big difference compared to my other MOD is the lack of maintenance. I love it...... Im soooooooo much more relaxed....:)

Also, make sure the squared locking nut is backed off just a LITTLE bit when putting it back together after cleaning. Usually that's the issue if you feel crunchiness or squeaking.
Never. Never. Never. Use lube or wd40.

Oh, since you have a lux some polishing may need to be involved if you want that shine back. Can't help much there though.

Oh thats ok (appreciated tho). Theres been a lot of talk about cleaning, I just have to find the pages now lol. Capcod from amazon is the latest I saw, and there is a great video on cleaning with the PnB tool in the main section (dont know the thread off hand), but it's in French. Doesnt matter to me. I can follow what he does easily.
