Hi Everyone. Hope all is well.

I love all the bug/insect/arachnid chat and pics.

I wish the GP team a relaxing summertime holiday.

Faith and I had a great weekend again and the hamster convention was quite....ahhh....interesting. She enjoyed it immensely.

My GVC I ordered over a month ago finally left British Post a few days ago. It was out for delivery today then returned to my local PO having an undeliverable address. I'm running up there first thing in the morning.

I've gone on a high-end RTA purchase spree lately.
Rose v2
Orchid
Taifun GT
SquapeR
Erlkonigin
Eviva-T
Ataman
FlashEVapor v3

The last 3 are en route. I'm really enjoying the others each for certain characteristics but I gotta say the Heron is my daily travel companion. It just produces such great flavor and is so easy to refill on-the-go.

I tried a new juice vendor that has really caught my fancy. dna Vapor (not to be confused with VaporDNA ).

I am really impressed with their Jefe which is a tobacco Creme Brulee, the Milk and Honey and their Key Lime Pie. They are all really top shelf clean and naturally authentic tasting.

Anyway, I've gotton over the hardest part of the work week. Not bad for being a Tuesday but still a busy week ahead.

I hope everyone is well and have a great rest of the week.

OMG, I ordered a 100 ml of GVC yesterday... talk about a budget buster for juice... over 80 bucks US shipped... I've never tried it but everyone in here glows about it... I sure hope it doesn't go like the Boba's... I couldn't stand that juice... :( So; should I be craving the GVC to arrive or am I just a dupe? lol. Input? Normally I vape GLV Deadly sin... and some DIY strawberry/cream trying to replicate Mother's Milk which I like very much as well. I can say that 10% flavoring in the DIY is TOO MUCH! lol. for my taste anyway...

Cheers :)
in my opinion if you like mothers milk you must try mother's milk shake by yaelig, best part is they are $18 per 100 ml. and they're yellow custard v2 is awesome as well. Israel coffee is my all day vape...love it. I always order my juice in 100 percent VG.
shipping from Israel is a $10, regardless of the size of the order.

Hey, did anyone see the review Todd did of a mod called the XPOSX? It's a hybrid and the atty is a part for part copy of the Spheroid.
Garnering an incredible amount of respect for King Perseas and GP, we do not talk about copies or clones on GP property :). A policy and code we family put in place.

More importantly, I hope your great buddy.

We have had this little guy visiting us this summer Righ outside our family room window:Clear Wing Moth.
Looks like hummingbird in a way.
Unknown.jpg

Bill... you would have both Hemaris thysbe and H. diffinis in your area I believe. This one appears to be H. thysbe which by chance is commonly called the Humingbird Clearwing (H. diffinis the Snowberry Clearwing) I've reared all four NA species and a few other species from various countries in Europe and Asia. The Hemaris genus as a whole mimics bumblebees for protection from predators.

I believe the description insect is general for most 6 or 8 legged creatures with an exoskeleton. ( Spiders, beetles, etc.) Bugs on the other hand is sort of slang for the 6 legged insects winged or not. Insect is the "class" used in classifying the animal kingdom.

in·sect (
ibreve.gif
n
prime.gif
s
ebreve.gif
kt
lprime.gif
)
n.1.a. Any of numerous usually small arthropod animals of the class Insecta, having an adult stage characterized by three pairs of legs and a body segmented into head, thorax, and abdomen and usually having two pairs of wings.Insects include the flies, crickets, mosquitoes, beetles, butterflies, and bees.
b. Any of various similar arthropod animals, such as spiders, centipedes, or ticks. See Regional Note at lightning bug.

2. An insignificant or contemptible person.

[Latin
imacr.gif
nsectum, from neuter past participle of
imacr.gif
nsec
amacr.gif
re, to cut up (translation of Greek entomon, segmented, cut up, insect) : in-, in; see in-2 + sec
amacr.gif
re, to cut; see sek- in Indo-European roots.]

By classification nomenclature Class Insecta falls under the subphyllum Hexapoda... six legged.
Class Arachnida come sunder subphyllum Chelicerata... have eight legs and are not insects... includes spiders, ticks, mites, scorpions, horseshoe crabs, etc.
Bug is a catch all that can include many species not related at all to insects or arachnids.

An example of why those serious about studying all living things on this planet do not pay much heed to common names that can vary by location and can refer to two species not even remotely related to each other, sometimes even to a plant and an animal. Taxonomic assignments that are universal do change as more is learned about some species over the years, but they are still the best referance to single out a particular species/subspecies, form, etc.

I'd like to wish Perseas and the entire GP team a very relaxing, restful vacation/holiday. Thank you all for the work you do.
:toast:

Well said Yankee. :thumb:

If I was in Europe for a free month and fit to travel I'd probably spend it in my familes birth places in the Noiraigue, Neuchatel, Trubschachen and Ruegsau areas of Switzerland... looking up old records so I could visit what had been the family properties, farms, etc, maybe see if any descendants were still alive and living on those properties or in those areas. My last contact with any of my family there was over 50 years ago, and those would have all passed on by now probably.

Bill Ok now that is very cool! Do you have hummingbirds as well?

Darksparkle, Yes we do have Hummingbirds. They are attracted to our Rose of Sharon bush. The Clearwing Hummingbird moth is pretty big and it does remind us of a bee flying as well.

Spyro very cool thanks, I was thinking the moth you said would not been seen for years could they be like the cicadas? That maybe stay underground until they mature? Just a thought

In your area there would be two broods of this species between early summer and late fall... but it can have even more broods further south. Environmental factors are what dictate how fast leps go through all the stages of their metamorphosis from egg to adult. The most important factors are photo period, temperature, humidity and a source of food, and there are others depending on species. But they can all be fooled. I reared many species year round all the years I lived in the deep snow frozen north in my home. I devised ways to hold over the food, and designed rearing cages that I could control all of the environmental factors in. There are many species that are mutiple brroded, where all broods except the last one go straight through from egg to adult with only a short development period as a cocoon/chrysalis. Last broods of the season and single brooded species has an over-winter stage as either ovum, a partially grown larvae,r as a cocoon/chrysalid and less often as an adult. Some others take 2 full years between broods (biennial species)... and some that while they normally take 2 years can take several if the conditions are not right for them to proceed. On our continent an exception is in the high altitude arctic/alpine habitats above tree line and the far north tundra where "summers" are extremely short. Many species take longer there, but Gynaephora groenlandica (Lymantriidae) holds the record. The harsh conditions only allow their larva a short feeding period each year, so each of their larval instars takes about a year. That means their "normal" metamorphosis from egg to adult takes at least 7 years.

I bet that was very cool, observing nature and how everything effects the grow stages of a single moth!
To cool! Thanks for breaking it down!

My day today was just one of those days where everything goes wrong, I spilled coffee on me, forgot my badge for work, felt like I did not get anything accomplished today, had several phone calls and other people messing up my stuff to which I had to go back and fix.... Where is the reset button?

I like most of the things I've had from Yaeliq as well. In fact, I need to make an order since I'm running out of my ADVs. I was going to try some of that milk shake as well.

Unfortunately I am getting a message "Malicious Embedded Link. Sites in this category may pose a security threat to network resources or private information, and are blocked by your organization.". I tend to do stuff like purchases at work just for this reason (Websense/proxy stuff is updated frequently) so this may keep me from going back and purchasing.
