Mail for me is amost 2 weeks out so I would like order more fluff, because there is going to a learning curve I will have to go through with this device.

Very true! I'm still battling with that "learning"...
When I say you'll get a small supply - it is in fact quite a bit when you consider it's wash it, dry it and reuse it.
The real fluff comes from GP of course. However, a pretty good substitute I use is Juwel aquarium water filters... Others on here will have other recommendations - they're all good too... Just make sure to give all such things a very good boiling and air drying before use...

After much consideration.. GP PAPS X 1.5 will be my first GP mod.... Now when will they be back in stock?

You are going to absolutely love it. Can't wait to hear what your impressions of the mod are!

Re: Fluff. Fluff sells out pretty quickly to be honest. It's best to stock up on it while it is in stock! You can also use SERA Wool, which can be found on Amazon, but honestly I like Fluff way better (easier to work with, more consistent, etc).

You know, I've been using my Herons & Spheroids for a while now, and I just recently tried washing/reusing my old fluff.....works AWESOME!! All I did was I ran it under scalding hot water, and all the old gunky e-liquid washed away no problem. No residual smell either!! I am going to start reusing it more often!! :)

Congratulations on the decision, you will absolutely love it. I figured this would be your choice. September when the Summer vacations come to an end is when P and Team will get back in perpetual motion :).

I ordered a GP Heron last night, but now I am on the hunt for some "fluff". What is fluff, and where are you guys getting it? Thanks!
I would be happy to send you some fluff. King P is gracious enough to send me enough to share with others and I have mailed it multiple times to GP Family. Please PM me your address and I will be sure to get a new sheet out to you asap.

Ah reusable, did not know that part! That will will make it easier on my learning curve. I checked around last night and saw that everyone I could find that carried the fluff were currently out of stock, so I started getting worried, I would get one or two builds and then have to shelve it until I could place an order.

A very generous offer Idaholandho... I will PM you my mailing address, and Thank You very much for sharing you fluff!

A note... I have watched a few videos on setting up the Heron and saw on the e-cig-review, Scott set his up with a cotton wick versus silica, and in turn did not need to use the fluff. I dare ask this question, BUT is there a "preferred" method for setup? I am only about 1/4 of the way through reading this entire thread so pardon my question if it gets answered the further I read.

I haven't used the fluff in my Heron. Is there a big advantage to using fluff in the Heron or is it more of an added safety level to prevent leaking in case the top cap comes off? I haven't quite reached the point of fluff perfection on the Spheroid yet so I skipped it on the Heron as soon as I saw it was optional.

The Heron was designed by GP to be used with fluff. The design was based on the Spheroid to be used with fluff. It has nothing to do with the cap coming off. :)

Hey @caveat

I did not realise until today that fluff was optional with the Heron!

Regardless, it is the convenience of fluff that brought me to using the Heron & Spheroid. I thought when first setting up the Heron that it was over fluffed and vaped with caution - just waiting for that first hint of burnt cotton. Turns out the wild guess I made when setting up was better than I realised as I have vaped hard on it since with no problems whatsoever. These simple things in life make me happy:)

Edit: Just see the post above. This makes sense!

On another note, does anyone know if Jewel poly pads are good to use from the box? Boiling these seems strange, but I do not want to contaminate juice when I eventually need to use them...

The suggested recommendation for building the Heron is with the fluff. That's its original, intended design.

Some people have have had some creative Heron builds ... especially because it includes the cotton topper that the Spheroid does not.

A fluffless build is NOT recommended.

IMHO, there's a lot of introduced room for error in the fluffless build for few, if any, gains.

Hey nisam!

The first video I had watched on it showed how you can use the little disc to go fluff-less and so that's always how I've used it. I was just curious if it gives some advantage to fluffing over not fluffing.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I'll try it with fluff next build too and see if I can tell a difference.

I could not see why anyone would try without fluff as to me this was the biggest selling point.

The topper was added to the design, I believe, to help stabilise cotton wick. I could be wrong, but it certainly serves well for this purpose.

Apologies to all if these posts should be in the Heron thread:oops:

btw, I've tried all types of "fluff" with my Spheroid (before the release of the Heron) but, again IMHO, the GP fluff seems to work the best.

... you could try others for yourself but I think you'll come to the same conclusion. :)
