Perseas - I'm curious, and it may be too early to tell, but now that Vapourart doesn't have any atomizers in production that require air flow from the 510 connection have you thought that the GP Paps v4 might come with a flat top cap by default with an optional slotted top cap available separately? I'm not suggesting that you go that way, I'm just wondering.

Perseas. Would matching serial numbers be possible on the Piccolo v4 and the Spheroid v4?

Hello my friend ;)

There is no way to match them, they have over 4000 numbers difference and as I have mentioned in the past, we calculate the numbering from the first Spheroid and Piccolo we have ever produced.

We have thought about it, a little patience and I'll show what we have done with the top cap of GP PAPS v4 :)

But @perseas, for this sferoid i hope you would make a new piccolo for best hibrid matching...

The GP Piccolo v4 released this year and I can't find any fault to it yet. And how much better do you want it to be? A spheroid with hybrid connection, a tube and a switch are the only parts of the Piccoloid.

The only matter without a satisfactory solution yet is the logos, they cannot be aligned due to threaded parts. At 16 mm, we have room to put only one O-ring around the base of the Spheroid to join the tube as a push fit , but it won't be stable or leakage free. So, the threading is the correct solution.

I've never had any issue with threading rather than push fit as the GP threads are incredibly beautiful. But I am quite happy with the push fit on the Heron and this does make it very easy to align the logos on my Heron to my X.

Have I told you all how much I love my X with the Heron sitting on top?

    Engraving on Piccoloid.

We're going to try a different technical solution for the logos of the Piccoloid in order to align the Piccolo's GP logo with Spheroid's aeolipile mark, by engraving each Piccoloid separately. Our CNC operator is not exactly happy with this approach, but we persuaded him to do it for a few dozen units at least. Stories for the Asylum :D

Normally, the deep engraving is done when the mod is still a rod to avoid deformation of the metal, but we acquired a new machine that will permit us to do it afterwards. This adjustment is done by hand for each unit and relies on the individual operator's skills . Fortunately our production scale is limited, it can't be done in a mass production environment.

And while on that subject, can anyone explain why a piccoloid can have all engravings lined up one time, but then when you tear down the gear to clean and reassemble, the logos misalign? Repeated tear downs will eventually line them up again.

I ask this because that would be one thing to test after the engravings are performed in the new step.

Hmm, you have a point here. I will offer them aligned and super clean, but we speak about many turns of threads here, so every time we dismantle the parts and assemble them again, they catch on a slightly different spot. They will always have a tiny range due to tightening and screwing of more than 2 turns.
