I believe that the GP Spheroid v4 will likely be available next month (I think that Team GP is making some final adjustments and it won't be ready within the next two weeks, but I could be wrong). I'm basing this off this comment that Perseas made on the Pit: "We believe till the end of June maybe the GP Spheroid v4 and definitely the GP PAPS v4 will be ready."

Perseas has stated that you will not be able to swap parts with the v3 and v4 as the Spheroid v4 is completely redesigned.

We try hard to keep compatibility between versions and this is a fact for over 90% of our products. When the time comes and a redesign from scratch is needed, like the GP Piccolo v4 and GP Spheroid v4, there are no compatible parts with the previous versions.

Current products:
  • GP PAPS X SS Edition v1.5 (January 2014)
  • GP PAPS SS Edition v3 (February 2014)
  • GP PAPS X LUX Edition v1.5 (April 2014)
  • GP Spheroid v3 (May 2014)
  • GP HERON v1.5 (June 2014)
  • GP X SS & LUX Edition (July 2014)
  • GP Piccolo v4 (January 2015)
Products to be released:
  • GP PAPS v4 (June 2015)
  • GP Spheroid v4 (July 2015)
  • GP Heron v2 (No ETA)
Products discontinued:
  • GP Spheroid v1 (December 2011 - July 2012)
  • GP Spheroid v2 (September 2012 - May 2014)
  • GP Spheroid v2.1 (60 units March 2013)
  • GP Piccolo v1 (December 2011 - May 2012)
  • GP Piccolo v2 (May 2012 - June 2012)
  • GP Piccolo v2.5, v2.6, v3 and v3.1 (December 2012 - August 2013)
  • GP PAPS v1 (September 2011 - May 2012)
  • GP PAPS v2 (May 2012 - June 2012)
  • GP PAPS v2.1 (February 2013 - April 2013)
  • GP PAPS v2.5 SS & LUX Edition (April 2013 - August 2013)
  • GP PAPS X v1 (August 2012 - December 2013)
  • GP PAPS X v1.5 Ti Edition (90 units July 2014)
  • GP SnP v1 22/23 (August 2012 - February 2014)
  • GP HERON v1 (August 2013 - May 2014)
  • GP SnP 22/23 v2 (February 2014 - January 2015)
  • GP SnP 22 v2 (February 2014 - January 2015)
  • GP SnP 23 v2 (February 2014 - January 2015)
  • GP PAPS v3 Lux Edition (February 2014 - January 2015)

We have designed the new PAPS to be as seamless as possible, the whole unit has a brushed finish now.

Oh my, the Paps v4 button is a departure from previous versions and is going to take me some getting used to.

I personally really like what you've done with the top cap. For 22mm atomizers with side airflow there will be no visible vents, but for Spheroids (v1 through v3 of course) and other atomizers with air flow on the 510 connection it should work fine. :thumb:

I don't think it is a departure, it is a combo of v2.5 with v3 plus a touch of engraving, we checked the feeling of the button and it is superb, the aeolipile on the tube was the most requested feature to be removed as obtrusive :)

After the release of the GP Spheroid v4, maybe next month, all our atomizers will have side air flow, so the GP PAPS v4 top cap supports the previous versions of the Spheroid, without a need for grooves visible from the side of the mod. As for other 22 mm atomizers with bottom air flow, I am not sure they will take adequate air, most atties in the market now, have side air flow.

I guess that I'm so used to a smooth brass or aluminum bronze button used by that Paps since its inception that the engraved stainless steel and brass combination seems so different to me. I'm not saying that I think it's bad (it looks gorgeous), just different from what I'm used to (I don't think that anything would stop me from getting one).

You've stated that the Paps v4 switch is a combo of the v2.5 and v3 switches. Can you please elaborate on what elements you believe that you've incorporated from these prior versions? I'm glad that the switch is vented (v3) and the button is round (< v3) and recessed without 1mm legs on the locking ring (v3).

Do you have plans to release a Paps v4 LUX version or Paps v4 LUX tubes at the same time or on a later date? Do you think that an aluminum bronze tube would continue to be polished or would you go with brushed to match the rest of the mod? My preference would be for a polished aluminum bronze tube so I could polish it to remove patina without removing the brushing. I have plenty of LUX tubes from prior releases that I will use even if you don't offer them with the v4.;)

As for other 22 mm atomizers with bottom air flow, I am not sure they will take adequate air, most atties in the market now, have side air flow.

Aside from cartomizer tanks that don't sit flush with the top cap (which seemingly should work fine with the Paps v4 top cap) I can't think of other 22mm atomizers with air flow on the 510 other than the Calix that provides its own air channels and should also work fine with the Paps v4 top cap. I guess that you could sit a 22mm cartomizer tank flush with a Killer or Diver without a flange, but you don't have to if you need air.

14 characteristics of GP PAPS v4 and which features came from v2.5 & v3:
  • minimal button travel and even shorter now at 0,3 mm (v2.5)
  • round button and overall sense (v2.5)
  • improved switch internals (v3)
  • reverse locking ring (v3)
  • switch with air vents (v3)
  • engraving (v3)
  • GPin (v3)
  • SS with brass on button (v4)
  • Custom CNC engraving (v4)
  • better conductivity, even better machining (v4)
  • "seamless" integration with "locked switch feature" (v4)
  • blind grooves on the top cap for up to 18 mm atomizer with bottom air flow(v4)
  • 2,2 mm shorter in 18500 mode and corresponding differences for the other modes. (v4)
  • uniform button travel independent of battery brand by using two included separate insulators (v4)

Do you have plans to release a Paps v4 LUX version or Paps v4 LUX tubes at the same time or on a later date? The aluminium bronze tubes will not be produced, maybe later if there is adequate demand.[/QUOTE]

Sweet - no more changing GPins when switching to 18500 tubes.

The battery department remain the same. The switch is 1 mm shorter and enters 1 mm less in the tube in relation to the previous versions, total 2 mm less height :)

Oh ok i see. Not to worry i still shall be buying the spheroid v4!
During you're testing, does it leak without using filler material? As i saw in Qorax's sneak peak that you can go fillerless?

If the cotton is placed properly, no leakage at all. For extra safety, when you have it in your pocket, you can twist the ring to close the AFC.

oooh, I'm looking forward to getting the new switch!

I'm also waiting for the new Heron. I like the capacity (both liquid and battery) in my 18500 setups.

Vaping on my Heron v1.0 and my TiX right now and it's just as good as the first day I got them. :)

I am pocketing it everywhere. Still on the 'filler less' mode. Spheroid V4 doesn't leak.
