Oh, and sorry....but Army rules!

Yeah... let's just say that when I went to the different recruiters the Army didn't have much to offer. They needed people in Motorpool and and Infantry... that's where they wanted to stick me. The Navy offered Aviation Electronics or Nuclear Power Technician (working on nuclear reactors). I opted for Aviation Electronics (larger post-service job market and the added bonus of not glowing in the dark for the rest of my life. It was either that or be a grease-monkey or crawl around in the mud with a rifle and a pack that weighs more than I do... no thanks!

Ooooh the rivalry! For us it was Army/Air Force because my dad's last station was McChord, which used to be right next to Ft. Lewis, but now they are Joint Base Lewis McChord. I was so used to being around both branches I could tell which branch a plain-clothed GI was in in a matter of seconds, lol. My son's best buddy is in the Navy and they are both in Okinawa so they get to hang out some. I love that. They graduated high school together and then went backpacking around Europe that summer before my son went off to boot camp that winter, then his buddy enilsted the following spring. They are still equal rank, though, because my son spent a year and a half at the DLI so his buddy had a chance to get caught up in rank. :)

I finally got a juice calculator that I can understand so I am not as afraid of the high nic base anymore, but still. It's 100 mg!! I was buying my nic base premixed from MBV at 12 mg and cutting it in half but now I only need 1/4 of that so those 8 oz bottles are lasting a long time. I probably won't have to break out the 100 mg stuff for a while. the thought of breaking it down into lower concentrations in bottles and storing it all in the freezer makes me tired, so it's still in the box it came in. :D Today, though, I get to mix up a batch of king cake and a delicious apple muffin recipe I got, so it's a good day!

That sounds awesome! I always wanted to go to Okinawa... never made it there though. Very cool that your son and his buddy get to spend some time together after enlisting! Especially since they are in different branches. Usually there isn't a lot of opportunity to socialize outside of the branch you're in. We had some Air Force personnel on the base where I went to school in Millington, TN. But we hated them and they hated us, so... lol.

I still haven't used a calculator for anything. Usually I absolutely suck at math, but it's been pretty easy doing the conversions for mixing. I even make up my ADV juices a quart at a time. I should probably take a page out of your book though and stock up on some nic. Last year and this year I only bought 250mL of 100 mg from wizardlabs. I went through the whole 250mL last year and ran out last month. I figure if all I gotta do is buy one bottle a year, then I'm good. But I should probably buy a couple extra and stick 'em in the freezer 'just in case'.

I'm a little baffled by my latest two mixes. I usually don't bother much with steeping, but those two kinda sucked for the first few days. They seem to be getting better now though. Maybe the will benefit from a week or two of steeping. I think I'll mix up another 30mL batch of each and just let them set and try them in a couple of weeks. If that's all it takes to make them good, then I wouldn't have to do much tweaking. Let me know how those King Cake and Apple Muffin recipes go, those sound pretty awesome too! My dad used to buy me a King Cake for my birthday every year when he worked out of Louisiana... the ones that I can get here in Texas now just aren't as good. :(

I checked in with the Marines as well. I scored an 88 on my ASVAB (99 is max from what I was told)... the Marine recruiter told me that I'd never make it through boot camp and just laughed at me. I was 5' and 105lbs at the time... what he didn't know was that I could run a mile in 5 minutes flat and was bench pressing 175lbs because I'd been lifting weights since 7th grade. I played football, baseball, was on the wrestling team and ran the mile on the track team. I was also on the cross-country team. Boot camp was a joke in the Navy... So, yeah, the Marines can kiss my .... too!

Nice! I only took it the one time. That was the summer between my junior and senior year of high school. I asked the Navy recruiter if I could actually study and take it again... he told me there wasn't really any reason for me to do that because with the score I had I could pretty much just pick whatever rate/MOS/job/whatever you wanna call it. I laughed once I got in and found people that had scored in the 40s and 50s... smh... how do these people tie their shoes in the mornings?

Lmaoooo...I was a nerd! I qualified for any MOS except pilot, because I didn't have 20/20 eyesight.

Yeah, me too. Terrible eyesight. Well, that and I don't/didn't have a degree... that was required to be a pilot (or even to be an officer... I was a lowly enlisted guy).

The design of this unit looks interesting. Too bad they didn't follow it up with 2 and 3 battery designs. I've been to their site and the 200W model does not look as snappy as this mod.

Yeah, I'm not too sure that the form of the Target mod would be conducive to a multi-battery design. Adding batteries and trying to stay with the same overall design would just become bulky and awkward. Personally, I'm kinda glad that they stuck with a single battery set-up for this mod. I'm not a huge fan of multiple batteries as I get all of the performance I need with just one. Sure, more battery life would be nice, but it's so easy to change the battery out with the magnetic door. Also, with VTC5s I get two tanks per battery so it works out really well for me.

Yes this mod is wonderful. I checked it on a local vape shop and I was very impressed

I haven't been into any vape shops in a while, so I don't know if any around me are carrying it. I do know that I've not seen anyone else with one in the wild around here. Far as I know, Red and I are the only ones in Houston with them. I have had a few people ask me what it is and where I got it though... it's definitely an eye catcher, and I've been verp impressed with the performance as well. You should pick one up, Geralyn... the sintered ceramic coils are definitely worth the price of admission! ;)

One of these days I'll wander into a vape shop. I just haven't had much need to visit one in a long time. Maybe I'll stop by one and pick up a new bottle of juice for a little DIY inspiration...
