Greetings to all and many thanks in advance for any advice and help.
About a week ago, I and a friend both tried our first e-cigarettes. They are Njoys that we purchased at a local Walmart on the recommendation of a friend and after reading some reviews on this site (Thank You). I must say that they do not seem to last very long and I usually smoke only in the evening and lightly. However, I, and my friend, were both surprised at the flavor and ease of draw. It bothered my throught at first, but I got use to it and used to inhaling in a different way.

My friend liked them right away and he smokes much more than I do. He, too, was a little disappointed, however, in the longevity of the njoy. That said, I contacted Njoy today and they are sending a replacement. They were very courteous and helped quickly with no questions asked. SO many companies could take a tip about customer service like that. I'm also glad that I'm transitioning away from real cigarettes. And I can REALLY feel the concerns and frustrations from so many of the posts that I read here about that.

All this leads me to ask, in my very first post, if I should invest in the Njoy starter kit or keep on with the disposables for awhile? I really don't think I'm ready for all of the components and time that are involved for the really serious vapers. It seems a bit daunting!

My other question/concern is that I'm wondering where the Njoy cigarettes themselves (and their liquid) is produced. I know the case is made in China but what about the contents? Maybe I'm overly concerned, but the safety and quality control with some Chinese companies is questionable at best.

Again, thank you so much for welcoming me here and for your input. Happy vaping!

Much of the Chinese equipment works great, particularly the entry level gear. Juices, though, should be American Made in my humble opinion. I DIY, meaning I make my own juice and get my gear from Wizard Labs and Perfumer's Apprentice, both online. Your frustration with battery life is only going to get worse. Get a good entry level kit and really enjoy vaping. Works wonders getting off the analogs. Using low power juice and batteries cost me 4 years of smoking. I tried cigalikes in 2009 and couldn't get there. 650 mAh egos in 2011 with 18 mg juice couldn't satisfy me in 2011. Then, BANG, 2013 variable voltage ego's and 24 mg/ml juice. I finally powered through my cravings and quit after smoking 3 PAD for 35 years. So, believe me, I know what what you're saying. Like others here, there's a great world out there, and eventually, it gets all of us. Vape On!

So, Yes, jump in with both feet!

From one garden stater to another welcome and congratulations on your getting off analogs (regular cigs). I to started my vaping journey in much the same way as you. I stated with the disposables and I used them for about a year until I discovered (through this forum) that there was much more to be had. As I was already OK with using ecigs I decided to upgrade to a device that was refillable. That is when my head started to spin with all of the choices and all of the new terminology. At times I thought I was reading a new language LOL.
I knew that I was into vaping for the long haul so I stepped up and purchased a Provari with the ext. end cap, a battery charger and 2 18650 batteries. I also purchased a Zen atty Pro but that is another story. As a delivery device I use the Kanger Protank. It is a Pyrex tank that holds about 3ml of juice and can be used with any kind of juice. The coils can be easily unscrewed and replaced (about every 2 weeks) or can be rebuilt if you are so inclined. I like the set up because a full tank lasts me a full day of vaping and the 18650 battery keeps me powered up over a full day. I have two and they charge up in about 2 hours so there is no down time. There are many people who found happiness with a less expensive set up but there are many who have not. The Provari though expensive will outlast anything else on the market and it is made in the USA to the highest standards.
Let me know what part of NJ you are from. I am in central NJ by the shore. Best of luck and keep on VAPING :)

You should definitely jump in, but going with the njoy kit is more like jumping in with one foot - probably more expensive long term as well. I would say go to the stage where you get yourself a variable-voltage device (i.e. vision spinner, ego twist), some type of clearomizer (i.e. iclear30) or decent kind of cartomizers (i.e. boge low resistance) and some good e-liquid (too many options to list, check out some reviews here first).

That said, I quickly stepped up to the VAMO and within a month had gotten a Provari as a birthday present - you might consider skipping all the lower-powered devices and go straight to a moderate variable-voltage/wattage device.

By once, cry once. You will save money in the long run by buying quality the first time. That said, you don't have to buy a Provari to start out. Am Ego Twist and an Evod for $30 will do the trick. I'd buy two though, backups are key. Two batts, two EVODs, and two chargers would run you about $80 to your house. myvapestore.com has a that combo for around that, just order a spare charger with it. That would be a set-up you could run for around a year without messing with other than replacement heads for $2 a pop.

Hey, folks!
I finally found my way back here (yes, I know i need to be more tech savvy-especially when the answers are staring me in the face)! Firstly, thanks to all who have responded so far. I'm still not ready to take the full plunge, but I thought I might move on from Njoy to an Eonsmoke starter kit. It's certainly cheap enough (and yes, I know you usually get what you pay for)! But, if any of you have experience with this brand and supplies, please let me know your thoughts. I appreciate all you time and info.

If you want a cigalike buy this for the same money, LINK. It's a much much much better product.

+1 for the EGO-T/EVOD combo, I have 4 or 5 that I continuously use as gate way PVs to help folks get off of cigs, with the right juice they are a great device and make for an easy transition. Plus to beat this combo's performance your going to spend some $$. I just got one back that's been in continuous rotation for almost 6 months and has gotten 4 people, to include my mother in law hooked on vaping and off of cigs. I always lend them out with a bottle of HHV tobacco flavored juice, GA peach tobacco has been the biggest hit so far, It has a pretty distinct tobacco flavor to smooth out the transition and the great peach flavor so folks get an idea of how much more you can get from vaping. Good luck, DRINK WATER! Stay strong and enjoy your freedom.

I use this exact same setup. I wish I had bought this the first time, I would have saved a lot of money on egos and clearos.

I just recommended this kit to another beginning vapor Electronic Cigarette / eGO Spinner Variable Voltage Starter Kit - Quality ecigs from Aqua Vapor Cig Atlanta, Ga . The get some e-juice from Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor . Get a flavor you think you might like at 18 and 24mg. That way if the 24 is too strong you have the 18mg. Jump in with both feet, I did. I smoked PAD for 35 years and stopped. I just alternated between a regular cig and an e-cig the day before I started vaping. I had tried EVERYTHING and NOTHING but e-cigs worked

If you like the cigarette style kit, I'd suggest looking at Smokeless image, Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette, Their kits get very good reviews around here and it looks like you get more bang for your buck with SI, especially when you look at the cost of eon's reill cartridges. SI has a coupon code SIVOLT50 which gives 15% off.

The learning curve for e-cigs is very sharp. But, thanks to all here, I am learning a lot and expanding my horizons and finding that bargains abound. I am still not ready to take a major equipment plunge, but I have moved up to an Eonsmoke starter kit, which was only about $14 a a convenience store. So, not much of a dollar outlay to experiment. A friend also introduced me to a Durango disposable, which I liked-only five bucks! Has anyone had experience with this one?

Here I am, again. This time, I discovered another disposable called Only1ecig, Blue Mist. Not bad. So, yes, I am still trying out disposables. And I have read a couple of news links from Forbes and Bloomberg News about the future of e-cigs. I'm now thinking that if Big Tobacco doesn't scare all the small entrepreneurs out of the marketplace, we just may start seeing e-cigs at a dollar store. There certainly a lot of cheaper disposables out there that I didn't were around. I'm not trying to waste money, but I'm still a little cautious about getting a larger kit. We'll see.

It looks to me as if the lower cost and ease of use might be the reason you are sticking to disposables. Fair enough. My view is that, if vaping a carrot on a pointed stick keeps you off cigarettes, that is a good setup.
That said, there is an appreciable difference in performance between the cig-alike and even an eGo.
