The gripper can use flat or button tops. Thats one of the things I like about it. Wish it would run my 1.1ohm coil though. It must be close to 1.2 cause I just got it to fire a couple times then the display of death came on. Bring on the power!!!

me either, and they might not, I may have misunderstood. Could be the vendor just doesn't have the particular 18650 batts the gripper needs. I know folks have said that the trust fire or ultrafire or something like that doesn't work. Not sure if that's what mv has or not.

I use aw, efest, mnke, and panasonic's.

Sorry about the misunderstanding...I just want to use my cartos and tanks that are 808. I'm just a bit confused on the batts the Gripper itself uses. But re-reading this thread it looks like I know what batts to get. Thanks everyone!

It seems that you needed a battery with a 808 connector for your cartos and tanks. You could just use 510-808 connector for the Gripper.

Same here, it fires at 1.2 but I never saw 1.1. Pretty good vape at 1.2 so I have nothing to complain about tho :)

Striker, Zurd, what voltage are you vaping those low ohm coils at?

I've been using stock Vivi 2.4 heads at 3-3.2V cause my rebuilds are too low @ 1.2-1.8 the juice is pants all I get is burning, 70/30 VG/PG.
Too busy to rebuild coils but have heard really high ohm coils (3.8 -4.2) make for the best Gripper experience? Thoughts anyone?

Just sort of depends on the feel. If its to hot I turn it down. Not much is ever to hot for me though. I just used my did at over 37 watts and liked it .

I have a question for all you Gripper owners. LOVE the 18650 batt, the small size of the Gripper and the fact that it's VV! BUT I use LR clearos/cartos AND I have a simple 18650 selectable tube mod (low approx 3.0, med approx 3.6 and high approx 4.0) which I use mostly on the low setting and occasionally on the med setting depending on the juice I use. I like the simplicity of it ... But it's HUGE in my hand! So I've been looking at the Gripper! From what I've read the lowest setting on the Gripper is not really 3.0 but more like 4.2!!! Now that's great for those of you that like higher voltages & that "burny" taste ... And I know I'm probably in the minority ... But I'm a low voltage vaper! I'm thinking the Gripper wouldn't work for me, right? Unless of course I go to a MUCH higher ohm clearo/carto! Need your opinions .... Thanks! :)

The Gripper does indeed hit much harder that what the display reads. Set at 3.0v its DC equivalent voltage (Vrms) is 4.23v. Standard resistance coils are almost a must unless you like a really hot vape.

Rader - how does 'this' post re: set at 3.0v it's actually 4.23v fit with your early post that seems to show the Grippers output matching it's setting pretty well for 2.2Ω & 2.9Ω loads. What am I missing? Thanks.

I start at around 3.0 volts in the morning and finish at around 3.6 volts at night. Maybe the Vivi doesn't wick fast enough. I only have 30% VG compared to your 70% too, doesn't help. I tried 2.4 ohms on my Gripper, I don't like it, not hot enough.

Well finally ordered my first VV PV and it's the Gripper! AquaVapor had the whole kit for around 44 dollars, which I needed, have no batts or charger for it, so am happy with price. Plus free juice and 10% off, nice deal.
So when I get it I will let you all know and thanks again for this thread it really helped me!

I think that's a 'different kettle of fish' Gripper...
