Since my gripper's 20 inches fall last month, one of the two thing holding the battery door close has been bent and now I kind of touched it and it really looks like it's broken. Only got one left. I really like the Gripper but this thing is just what chuckie said : "cheap piece of junk" lol

Hopefully I can still use it for many more months...

They all have wobbly 510 connector unfortunately, some people just put glue on it, not pretty but it's a fix. Personally I live with it, it's not that bad.

Maybe a lot do, but not all. A friend has 3 and none have a wobbly connector. So when I got mine and it had a loose connector, I returned it. The replacement is not wobbly. I didn't want to 'stick' the vendor I bought it from but I just didn't think it was right to accept something that wasn't right. Hopefully they can get credit from their supplier for a defective unit.

Well I finally ordered the gripper ( the real one) even with all it's issues, it's my first VV PV at three years of only using 'stick' batts, so I'm excited. The one I have coming is a 808 threaded one, since I have tanks, cartos, that are 808. Will check to see if the connection is wobbly like a lot of you have said on your 510 connection.
Oh and I will also try not to drop it!

I really think you're going to love it! It's a great little device:)

My Gripper doesn't have a wobbly connector either, it's ohms are out but only 2ohms higher than multi-metered.
It has a Lovely OLED screen, fits nicely in my hand, it's light, I like the finish and battery lasts forEver.
It doesn't promise to be a high end device.
So.. Cheap bit of junk it may well be, but as a Cheap entry level VV it packs a lot of punch it just doesn't like receiving one.

I try to be honest. I and wish you the best of luck and hope you get enough use out of it so you feel you got your money's worth.

Actually I had the same problem with my vv gripper within 2 days of it arriving. I know how to fix it. You have to take it apart and solder in a new 510 connection. About a $5 fix. What happened with mine is part of the insulator for the pin in the 510 connection broke. Here's a pic ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350764886.647213.jpg

Or you could just put it in a different box altogether, since the battery door is also junky. Don't ge me wrong, the function of the device is great. I loved it, aside from it hated my Vivi Nova. It was the best functioning device of all the VV devices I've had.

What was it about your Vivi Nova that it hated? The Vivi Nova is the main device I use with mine and it works great with it.

I've dropped mine several times onto hardwood floor and the battery door came off each time but I was able to put it back on. I was lucky because nothing broke.

Dang, you are very lucky. I had the same issue that a previous poster had where one side of my case that's supposed to hold the battery door broke, and it was only being held on one side. My Vivi issue though, was that it didn't seem to wick well when on the Gripper. Sounds silly, but that's what it seemed to be. Unless I was running it between 3-3.2 volts, it would taste burnt. My other VV egos and twist didn't have this issue with my Vivi Nova though, so I know it's not an actual wicking problem. Gripper worked great with my carto tanks though. I got the Vivi as a possible replacement for them, as I love the build quality of it, and ease of changing the heads, but it just didn't seem as good as the tanks in several areas. Course, now I'm in love with the Kanger T3 which is threaded for the eGo, and won't work on my Gripper without an adapter that I don't have.

I use the T3 with mine too with the ego adapter. Were you using the 1.8 ohm head with the Vivi Nova? It does give burnt taste with it at medium voltages but the 2.4 and 2.8 ohm coils work real good with mine.

Just got my Gripper, feels good and was all ready to try it but it wouldn't fire. Didn't realize the batteries had to charge :(. Hope the light turns green on the charger soon!

The batteries will take a couple hours to charge probably. Remember the Gripper seems to run hotter (not sure if that's the right word) than most VV devices so start slow with your volts, and go up slowly. As an example,I usually vape my French Apple Tart from DV at 4.4 volts, but with the Gripper I have to vape at 3.6 volts. You are going to love this device once you get a chance to use it. Congrats!:)

Thanks Firewing! Looking forward to trying it out, realized when I had it in my hand that I sort of wished there was a lefty version :D

I guess there's just not enough of the population that's lefty's...you'll find a way to hold it that's comfortable for you, after all you don't have to hold it exactly as it's meant. I have several different ways of holding mine. I really fell in love with the top button within about day 3 of use. I'm excited to hear what you think of it, and hope your batteries charge quickly!:)

Well i couldn't stand it any more and took off one of the batts that were still charging ( at 3 hours! ) And wow, great vapor and TH! Flavor a little muted but I can play with that. So far I really like the gripper :)

I'm glad you like it, and once you get the hang of it, you'll come to love it...it's my favorite VV device that I've owned so far. I'm really missing mine while Rader2146 has mine for repair. I'm hoping he got it today and can repair it very soon (as his schedule allows), because I miss it so very much. I still can't believe Rader2146 is going to repair it for me, as I thought I was going to have to throw it away. I'm so very thrilled that they're are people (or at least one person) in this world who will do such nice things for someone they've never met or even talked to before! Rader2146 has major karma credit coming IMO,I know that everyone else will agree with me on that one!:D
