Wow thats a lot of battery. During the week I use a 2.6 ohm ViVi Nova at 3 volts. This is my first weekend with it and I got about 3/4 of a day out of a MNKE 1500mah battery at 4 volts.

I realize I'm using half of my battery, however vaping with the Gripper at 3.4 volts on a 4.1 volts battery or a 3.6 volts battery is entirely different. But, I'm vaping right now on a 3.6 volts battery at 3.8 volts and it looks like it's about the same thing as vaping 3.4 volts on a 4.1 volts battery. This might just be what I'm going to do in the future to extend the battery life !
Around 1.7 ohms, I don't "measure" the voltage drop but I feel it when vaping, it is less powerful when the battery goes to 3.6 volts but by raising the voltage it's working, same vape satisfaction. My friend confirmed this with me too when he tried my PV with a 3.6v compared to a 4.1v battery. We've discussed this on our vape meeting and it's the general consensus too so it shouldn't be just in my mind

I have changed from a ViVi Nova 3.2ohm (measured) to a Bulldog RBA 2.9ohm (measured) on my Gripper and the "hotness" that I have been experiencing from the unfiltered pwm seems to have totally gone away. I really don't mind this because I can now vape at a lot higher voltage and get more flavor.
Can anyone explain why a slightly lower resistance is causing this?

Are you on the same battery? I've heard the Gripper drops it's loaded voltage as the battery voltage declines. Could that be it?
I think you're comparing apples to oranges, you need to try a ViVi Nova 3.2 ohms with a ViVi Nova 2.9 ohms. In all the atomizers I've tested, they're all different, even on the same device with the same battery.

Same battery voltage, yeah (3.7V remaining, AW IMR). I just discovered this a few minutes before I posted it. I switched back and forth several times to verify. That "hotness" that the Gripper has where you have to drop the voltage about .6-.8 volts to get a ProVari equivalent vape just isn't there with the Bulldog. It's a very smooth vape (and TASTY, I might add).

I didn't see any voltage drop at modest power levels. The point at which the voltage began to level off was different depending on the resistance. In the case from above, the only thing that I can think of is if the peak voltage of the PWM output were to drop, then the relative "feels hotter than" effect would also lessen even though the voltage is unchanged. Peak voltage is part of the RMS voltage equation. That would also explain why the voltages level off the way they do in the graphs. If it is running at 100% duty cycle and a lower peak voltage, it's at it'slimit. I would love to verify this theory, but I won't have access to an o-scope for a few weeks.

Anyone else have their center post start acting up? Mine got loose and off center. I made a thin plastic ring to re center it, works great again.
My gripper is falling apart. My 510 connector is now coming out of the box whenever I try to remove my carto tank. It still vapes ok though. I noticed that around 3.6v the voltage feels like it drops, and at 3.4 its definitely time to change out the battery. This has been on different cartos at different resistances, so it just seems to be the way of the gripper itself. I've got no complaints about that though, as it usually takes me a day and a half or more to get that far.
I'm happy to report that my Gripper is now 5 weeks old, still alive and doing a good job. My center post is still good, I only have a Phoenix on it though, I take it off once every 10 days or so, so I rarely unscrew/screw it.
Okay, so I got my Xtar Charger yesterday, Yay! is there any special procedure for 'first time' charging these panasonic cgr's?
Essentially, do I just wait for the green light and remove immediately or do I leave them in place for a few hours more like you do with mobile phone batteries?

I have been using my Gripper for over two months now as my primary PV and I haven't had any problems with it.
My threads totally stripped pretty quickly, but I screwed in a 510 sealed shorty I had with a phx on it, made sure it was firing, and then put a bit of 5 minute epoxy on the outside of the shorty, gluing it to the top of the gripper, let it dry and no more problems!! It looks a little gloopy on top around the shorty, but I don't care about that. I have my gripper back!! I always charge my batts (pannies) at about 3.4-3.5, but it takes me about 3 days to get them to that point.
The transplant is on the back burner. The 2 housings I bought were too big for comfort, and I haven't gotten anywhere with designing a case for 3D printing. Too busy with other things right now.
Honestly, I built an OKR box mod to get me by until I fixed the Gripper and I've come to prefer the OKR. The Gripper might be going into retirement.
There is no special procedure for charging your Panny's. When the light goes green, it's ready to vape.

Whats an OKR? Sorry I am not an exp modder but I did build one out of a broken toy. Just so happens that Steel Jan had a step by step using the same toy. She also gave links to the parts and all. Made it really easy and that mod is about 5 months old. Still going strong and passed on to my dad that was using a ego.
If you decide to let that broken Gripper sit in a box or toss it out I will give you a few bucks for it.
