Girlfriend has a bunch of this stuff she never uses and I am experimenting a lot with different coil builds/wicking techniques. Is this stuff safe to use? I noticed it is only threaded the same way on the outer layers... so that might affect wicking but we'll see.

It looks just like Muji. Id say go for it. Muji is my favorite wick.

I use Sephora: Koh Gen Do : Pure Cotton

As long as your cotton pads have the grain running in one direction you should be good to go.

I'm just wondering because they don't seem to be processed at all... which is why some of them are an off white color. Does that raise the possibility of contaminants or something?

Have NO idea buf before switching to Rayon i used organic cotton balls from Walgreens for wicking. They worked great.

I have enough to last a lifetime. Just one pad lasts me about four months. Don't take much to wick a 1mm coil in my kayfun. In fact i can't cut it thin enough so i have to peel it in half.

I'm almost sure that the koh gen doh, muji, organic cottons are of the same kind/type.

I recently just switched to Cotton Bacon, maybe its in my head but the vape seems to taste better.

Don't worry about the color. Pure, unprocessed cotton is not bright white. White cotton has been bleached to get it that way. Off-white is good and is what you should see with organic.

I think you are asking about cotton rayon. Sally's Beauty Supply has beauty coil in boxes large enough to last four people the rest of their lives. Beauticians use it as a dam to prevent solutions from dripping into eyes and ears.

@Jeremy R started a thread way back on using cellucoton/rayon as a wicking material. Many folks swear by it as being much better than cotton. There are however some types you'll want to stay away from.

I think it called "rayon wicking better flow better flavour"

I've been happy with this Koh Gen Do cotton from Amazon. $11.80 for a huge stack of pads. The picture looks small, but the stack in the bag is about 4"W x 6"L x 2" thick. I've been using it for a couple of months and it's still pretty much full.
