I suggest you don't push yourself, take it easy, over time if you enjoy vaping more (which many of us do), you will actually FORGET to smoke. Just keep trying, there is a learning curve.:2c:

Hopefully! :) I do like trying all the different flavors and such! I think I'm finding even harder to quit since my fiancee still smokes...

By chance are they "trigger" cigarettes, something like first thing in the morning?

I bumped my vape nic level up for those, and it helped me skip the analogs.

Agreed, my two a day were in the morning and at night. I also only smoked outside, where I vaped anywhere. I found that by sticking to the routine for a while, and going outside to vape like crazy right after waking up and before going to bed, I was able to beat that.

Savannah, you don't feel like you wish you were vaping when you smoke those two analogs, do you? That was where I was when I took a week off of smoking before I had my last cigarette.

I would be glad if my experiences could help you, but if I've learned nothing else transitioning from analogs to e-cigs is a highly personal experience. Again, don't be too hard on yourself if you need a smoke. You're surely smoking far less than you were, and that's already a victory for ya!

I have not smoked a real cig since the day I picked up my eGO (then my wetbox, buzz, little sister) that was almost two months ago.

Its not quite as easy (I dont think) as some say. Its a lot of "work" to vape. I however love it. Have quickly changed my view from it being "work" to being a great "stress reliever". I love "fiddling" with my equipment and juice. I love finding a new sweet spot. I love finding a new all day vape. I love noticing that I have went another hour, day, week without smoking.

If someone picks up a ecig and things its going to do all the work for them, I think they will be disappointed. You have to want to quit smoking. Ecigs have made my 2 month journey MUCH MUCH easier and MUCH MUCH more pleasant for everyone around me!!!

I only smoked some analogs for a week before I quit smoking them. I've been analog free for...well, the sig banner tells ya. It was easy for me to quit smoking after 30 years of smoking and just vape, because I really, really, REALLY wanted to quit smoking. During that first week of vaping I cut down the number of cigs I had, not because I consciously did it, but because the more I vaped, the less I liked cigs. Now I can't stand the taste or smell of the things.

Good luck on quitting! It'll come when you are ready.

I have been analog free for 3 weeks today, the 2nd day after I received my eGo, I dropped the analogs, the hardest part was going through the taste changes, for several days all of my juices tasted like crap, the only thing that would taste decent was the cinnamon roll from myfreedomsmokes, that brought me through...that and I combine 2 drops ry4 w/ pineapple (sounds gross, I know). Finally the taste issue cleared up, I vape the 24mg, I recently ordered 36 to vape in after meals and late in the evenings, but I must admit, for me it really was easy...my husband did not want to quit, he played around with my eGo for 2 days and ended up stealing one and quit analogs, he is also 3 weeks analog free...I am impressed, I had been smoking 2- 2 and 1/2 packs a day for the last 10 years, I do not break addiction well...thanks e cig!

I have been smoke free for 3 weeks also. For a few days before that I smoked cigarettes and vaped while I was getting the hang of it. I smoked 2 packs a day for the last 20 years. After trying vaping for those first couple of days (while still smoking) I finally felt like I found something that would work for me. I had so many attempts and failures at quitting before that I am determined to finally quit this time. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. I had a few rough hours/days but feel now that I have made it 3 weeks I can do it permanently.

I have been smoke free for 75 days today, after 25 years of tobacco abuse. I vaped and still smoked about 4 analogs a day for around 14 days after I got my first kit. I chose a day in advance--it was a Saturday and I was attending a book sale most of the day--and simply vaped only from that point on. Yes the first 4-7 days really suck, but after that it has become so much easier that I truly don't think about it anymore. I didn't put myself around friends who smoked the first few weeks and didn't hit the bars/drink much alcohol, as I know that is a big smoking trigger for me. I have helped 5 people convert to vaping and there is no looking back at this point. One big thing you must do is find the set-up that is perfect for you, find the combo of hardware and juice that really does it for you, that makes you think to yourself "hey, this is exactly like smoking." Good luck everyone and JUST DO IT!

I am 18 months smoke free thanks to e-cigs. After thousands of dollars on acupuncture, hypnosis and every known patch, gum, lozenge, pill, homeopathic and PSYCHOTHERAPY treatment available to man.. Three heart attacks and a triple bypass later...I was a failure. I smoked in the restroom of the ICU with chest tubes in and dared the nurse to take the cig from my hand. I smoked 2-2 1/2 packs a day and was told to quit or die...I was 43!
If I can quit anyone can. It was all a matter of the right hardware and the right e-liquid. The learning curve and trying different things. For me it was a little 3,7 volt laser mod with 555 cut in half with caramel. Dunno why??? I was a menthol smoker and hate menthol e-liquid. I found replicating the old flavor was more detrimental...I needed a NEW BETTER tasting flavor and a very high e-liquid with analog like flavor for those weak moments. I am now at 6-8 mg strength enjoying the act of smoking and my CBC and pulmonary function studies just NOW became normal. Yes, it took my body 18 months to recover....but AHHHH the taste of a good meal and then a good vape is ...well....PRICELESS!
Good Luck to all trying to quit and keep trying, 2 analogs are better than 20!
    Hugs

    Bonnie, you are an inspiration!

For me, I vaped for 5 days, then had equipment failure and bought a pack of cigs. I smoked them in 3 days while getting back up equipment. It was so hard not to buy another pack. I can't explain it, was almost panic mode not having the pack...just in case. I knew if I had cigs, I would smoke them so I made up my mind not to buy any. It was a bit of a struggle the first day or so, that panic of not having them (like I couldn't go to the store if I became desperate). I fought through it and after that, hasn't been a problem. I had occasional cravings until about 6 months in and haven't had another one.

Good luck to everyone, you can do it.

    Hey everbody,

these are truly amazing stories!! I too smoked for 28 years 2 packs a day every day. I never in a million years thought I would be able to quit. It's all about your choice of your PV and your setup. I first bought a cheap 901 with a small battery. First impression was I just wasted another $70.00, very little vapor and no throat hit at all, but I was intrigued with the possibility this could work. So thats when I starting doing some research. Still not knowing where to go I went back to where I bought my first PV. They had a 3.7 volt DSE905 which was better and gave more hope than I ever had before. That's when I found ECF all the info on this forum is great. Now it was time to do some modding. Once I found out how to make my DSE905 go from 3.7 to 6volts I new I had found my way to quit analogs forever. I needed lots of vapor and TH for me to quit. So my last cig was on Jun 12 2010. Now I'm into doing my own DIY juice and I love it. It is a hobby for me now. If this info helps one person to keep vaping and quit analogs for good. That's all I can ask for!!
Don't give up you could be the next smoke free person??

    Happy vaping:vapor:

I have been a nonsmoker for nearing 59 days now. The first day I got my first kit (a DSE 901) I knew this was the only way I was gonna do it. Pain is also a great motivator. I have pleurisy and when I was smoking it HURT to breathe it hurt to inhale and hurt twice as much when I exhaled. Since I've started vaping there is NO pain at all anymore! Don't know for sure that the pleurisy has cleared up yet or not... but no more pain is good enough for me!!! I upgraded to an eGo last week cuz my hubby and I decided we'd reward each other for our 13th anniversary (which isn't til september 19th but early is good LOL) I love my eGo. (I guess I love my hubby too most days at least LOL)

I was a pack to a pack and a half smoker for 15 years, and I have not had a cigarette in over 6mo. I quit of course using e-cigarettes, and while I am still addicted to nicotine, I have never felt better. I am down to 12mg/ml e-liquid now, and I love the experience of vaping more than I ever did smoking, and I often go long periods of time without remembering to use my PV. So for all of those who are thinking of quitting using e-cigs, just remember you can do it.
