3 & 3/4 years smoke free, 30 year smoker, pack a day, more if up late or if alcohol was involved. Chantix got me off...rough patch 6 weeks in, used nicotrol inhalers..then switched to ecigs which are 100 times more satisfying than nicotrols. But, the nicotrol did it's job to keep me from losing my quit, so I won't knock it. Fact is..I'm OCD & need the hand to mouth..

ACM - I surely am going to take a look into bottom fed juice boxes. I had not heard of these until now. The fact that they don't look like an analog, does not bother. When I first started researching before purchasing, one of my criterias was that it did NOT look like an analog. thank you kindly. btw, where can I purchase one of these fine creations?

Check your PM.

I've been analog free for 3 months and a week now since Sept 5th. I originally intended to just cut down and from July 10th till Sept 4th that's what I did. I smoked about 1.5 packs a day for 19 years. When I cut down I was down to about 6-8 a day for the first few days then I was smoking only 3-4 for a couple weeks and the last few weeks I was having 1-2 a day and a coupe days in there with none. I felt kind of silly having a smoke once a day or even every other day so I got some 18mg liquid (I started with 12mg) and I've been analog free since. At about a month into quitting I did find I was having some mild depression so I've been taking St. John's wart and that took care of it.

I just started vaping a week and one day ago. After about 24 hrs I "tried" one of my analogs. After two puffs, I put it out and threw it away. It was DISGUSTING.

Then on the third day, I was Christmas shopping, and decided to light up one of my analogs (yep I had them with me), while driving from parking lot to parking lot. That lasted for ONE puff. Threw it away. It was just as disgusting as it had been two days earlier.

Since then, every time I even think of an analog, I remember that taste, and pick up my pv. I can't imagine how I smoked all those years (32) and didn't realize how horrible analogs really are.

I have no plans on ever smoking again. I don't miss it, at all. I much prefer vaping!! Everything about it is better.

will be 2 years in January 2011 that i gave up a 2p/day+ habit. I went rapidly thru almost every ecig model and mod out there before i found one that let me be completely satisfied with vaping instead of smoking. The first few months were hard as there just werent' that many models at that time to use and the HV mods were just really getting going. I struggled on by replacing the attys very frequently and carrying about 10 batts with me and using a PT at work. The Prodigy V1 changed the whole thing for me. Once i went to higher voltage i never looked back. Luckily by then i didn't care any more about having an ecig the size of a regular cig so the transition was easy....for me it's all about TH TH TH. Even with all the models that i went thru i know for a fact i didn't spend anywhere near what i was spending on cigs either, not to mention the cost of the medication i no longer need for high BP. I have a ProVari VV mod on order and hope it will fix the only real problem i have had with the Prodigy, not being able to adjust for variations in attys. Fingers crossed.

Just wondering how many people have completely quit smoking, for how long, and how they feel in comparison.
I have smoked for about 12 years and have cut back from a pack a day to 8 cigs a day, so i think with the ecig I can stop completely, but my husband smokes alot and has a really bad smoker's cough, so I'm hoping if he can quit on these.

Quit cold the day i got my PV....feel great and proud ..never thought i could do it...keep encouraging him...mine was is the same story now he's down to 5-6 cigs..vapes the other half..good luck, this forum is GREAT

Today is Day 6 for me, and not one analog. Sometimes the craving hits, but I upped my nic to 24mg, and just a couple of hits and I'm good. Nite time is 6 or 0, gotta sleep sometime. Smoked 30 years but didn't go over a pack a day, except rare occassion when I had a drink. Last pack was American Spirit brand but wanted to take it further. Got my kit in October and kept going back and forth, but did cut down considerably. Finally learned what nic level was good for me 12mg, and haven't looked back since. I fell really, really good.

I was a smoker for about eight years. At my heaviest I was smoking two or more packs a day. Before I quit I was down to about a half a pack. I've been analog-free for eight weeks on the Monday the 10th. I gave up the analogs the moment my first starter kit arrived and never looked back.

congrats! vaping really does work!

Thanks, Oldsoldier! I'm always out sharing the "gospel" of vaping with smokers. I've seen how effective it is with my dad, who smoked nearly forty years and watched both of his parents and two older siblings die of lung cancer directly related to smoking. It's so cool watching him get excited about ordering new juices or a drip tip. He's pretty proud of his wide stainless steel drip tip right now. He wants to buy a big battery mod next. He's pretty jealous of my SB and refuses to "look upon its awesome vapor" LOL. But he's been analog-free for two weeks now and says he'll never smoke again.

I smoked 38 years, I was up to 2 packs a day before e-cigs. I tried a free trial (What a farce!), but it showed me enough to get curious and now I think I am truly addicted to vaping.
Let me tell you though. I had gotten to a point that I couldn't go to sleep at night because I would hear myself wheezing. Every morning I would literally cough for 45 minutes to an hour before I could really start inhaling smoke. I knew I needed to quit, but 12 hours without a smoke and I was a very angry man. My wife and kids once asked me to start smoking again when I tried Chantix. It was terrible!
With e-cigs, I was able to quit and not look back without the horrible side effects of quitting. After just a month I no longer wheeze, or cough every morning, although I was amazed how much I coughed until my lungs started clearing up.
This is definitely the best invention since sliced bread!
