Also lots of posters say 'I am analogue free since I started smoking and have never looked back!' without saying how long they have been vaping. Then you look at their ecf join date and it's less than a month ago!

So those types of posts really do not hold much water for true tests of how good a tool vaping is for helping completely quit cigarettes.

Maybe so Hotwire, but I can say that I quit smoking (two days after receiving my Tornado) on May 3, 2010. However, I didn't join ECF until Nov 2010.

I just did my research before I discovered ECF and figured I may be able to help new users with what I had gone through when I first started, so I joined.

The join date on ECF signatures may not necessarily reflect actual experience.:)

I still smoke some but much less than the 3 PAD I was smoking. Went 5 weeks without an analog then had some equipment/juice issues and started having a few a day. Getting those issues worked out and will try going without analogs again. The previous poster who addressed this is right. Get something that works for YOU and enjoy your quit.

I started vaping ECig just to reduce my analog expenses but still i haven't stopped taking analog but reduced it...May be i should change my intention from rather reducing my expense i should think about quiting analog...Hope for the best....

Don't rush yourself..........and don't kick yourself if you can't right away......some of us do kick the analogs immediately.....for some it takes a bit longer......... GOod luck with your process :)

Can't say I quit I'll have a few next time I'm on the water. Don't care. When I started I thought it would be worth it if I just cut down on analogs a bit. 50 percent would have been great. Turned out to be more 99.9 percent. Maybe that's why it was so easy for me. I started with a lot of nicotine, 24mg and wasn't even trying.

I started using E-cigs back in Feb. of 2009 and hung in for about 7 months.

But I found myself spending more time cleaning up messes, fixing faulty equipment and waiting on parts and equipment than actually using the darn things.
You have to remember that at that time, other than a few mods, the best I had to choose from were 801's, 901's - cartomizers hadn't been invented yet - and 510's were almost impossible to buy because of demand. Some folks waited for a month just for one kit, and no spare parts.

That and the worries of Chinese juice health concerns (anybody remember lead paint on baby toys and poisoned dog food?), I finally just gave up and went back to analogs.

Since then I've tried just about everything: Swedish snus, the patch, Chantix...
And still the cigarettes burn to the tune of 2 and a half packs a day.

The closest I came to quitting was with an e-cig, so here I am - back to try again.
And thankfully, a lot of things appear to have changed for the better.

This time armed with a pair of Ego-t's, some american made juice, and with cartos and more flavors on the way, I'm giving it another shot.

At this point, If I can cut my smoking in half, I'll consider it a win.

Wish me luck...

:)

I haven't had an analog since 10-01-10. I smoked for so long I don't remember when I started. I do remember that I was smoking a pack a day at the age of 16. School lunch was 30 cents then and I skipped lunch so I could buy cigs. When lunches went up to 35 cents so did cigs! I was 60 when I quit so that was 44 years. I was smoking before I was 16 but I don't know when it became a steady thing.

On the 4th of July 2010 my nephew came to my house after the fireworks and was toking on a 901 so I took a couple of hits off that and thought to myself "This could work!" So I got all the info from him and ordered one and it did work, sort of, some of the time. I figured out the only way to quit with that thing was to have 15 batteries and a bunch of attys so I started looking for something else. Oh, i forgot to mention that I was smoking 3 PAD for most of that time. The next PV I ordered was a Silver Bullet and since it arrived I haven't had another analog. I had a pack and a half left at that time. Never touched them again.

I was super addicted and had tried everything. I smoked 2packs a day when wearing the patch and didn't feel satisfied. I'm proof that a PV works if you want to quit smoking. I don't see why it wouldn't wok if you wanted to quit nicotine.

I am going to give it another try after failing miserably the past 3 weeks.

Have ordered what I hope will be decent quality liquids compared to the last shipment of utter cr@p I received and which are in some of my favorite food flavors and I think I have also identified the correct mg of nicotine for me now - 6mg -that won't give me insomnia at night (another reason I went back to the cigs is that I couldn't vape before bed without getting awful insomnia from the nic buzz) and also one strong tobacco flavor at 18mg that I am truly hoping will satisfy when drinking. If it doesn't, then hopefuly the only time I will smoke is when drinking, a time when will power to not smoke just falls down flat.

It will still be hard and I will still need willpower in droves. The pv mainly a 2nd best alternative rather than the pleasure a lot of vapers seem to find it to be. Reason probably is that I'm relatively young (34) and my health is not that badly affected by the 3 or 4 cigs I have at night (not even tempted during the day when at work, haven't been for years) and maybe 1 pack over the weekend IF DRINKING. Apart from lethargy and occaisional bronchitis, I don't get any wheezing, coughing or any other serious health problems and my Blood pressure is 64/63 and my lungs passed all doc's tests with flying colors also. So there is no extreme, pressing motivation for me to quit and where I live a pack of Dunhills is only the eqvt of $2.18usd a pack...

But still, the lethargy in the mornings (even after only 3 or 4 cigs the previous evening with a movie and a cpl of beers) and the occaisional bronchitis are not things I want in my life.

So my new tasty (fingers crossed) liquids with good flavors and the right nic mg for me plus the aid of direct dripping when at home and having a beer (one of my main times I smoke and I find direct dripping gives pretty satisfying hits) and using 18mg Dessert Ship in my pv (ego-t) when out at a bar drinking (the other main time I smoke and a time when dripping not for me) might do it for me.

I smoked for 30 years, pack a day, Pall Mall 100's. I haven't smoked an analog for 6 days, 6 hours and 50 minutes. But who's counting. LOL. If I can do it then anyone can.
I quit the minute I started vaping. It wasn't planned that way, it just sort of happened. Of course, I've been vaping my head off this last week with 24mg ejuice. But, it's kept the heebee jeebees away. When I feel the temptation to smoke an analog I just vape more and the sensation goes away. Besides, cigs smell bad to me now.Ha!

I have 2x 510, 2x Ego, and a boat load of good E-juice (I use the reviews here to pick the best ones). I might get me an Ego-T thingy soon also.

Good luck! Just keep trying!

As my signature states I've been absolutely smoke free for over a month and have had ZERO urges to smoke tobacco, despite smoking for 10 years. None.

I wish more people had the same experiences I've had, including my parents who have tried the e-cig but unfortunately it doesn't stick for everyone

Sometimes people try it the first time and say icky, and don't really give the e-cig a fighting chance. Maybe they needed some joose that they would love in order to stick with it. Can't hurt to try.
