Speaking of Hangsen, I made a mix yesterday using Hangsen RY1 and Hangsen Vanilla. After a few cycles in the untrasonic and 12 hours steep I've been vaping it all day. The vanilla is the best I have tried. I don't think the RY1 is the best fit for the vanilla and will try it with something a little stronger next time but I HIGHLY recommend anyone interested to get some Hangsen Vanilla. You won't regret it.

My dedicated DIY mixing station. It's an old bar, and I've added the xenon light, because it's in a dark corner.

I've been at this approximately 3 weeks.

The Hangsen Vanilla I bought smells strongly of butter. What does yours smell/taste like?

On my last order from fasttech I dropped in a bottle of hangsen ry4 just to see how it compared to a diy mix using the hangsen ry4 flavoring. (They were basically the same, I should have saved my money).

Glad to see another hangsen fan....Great flavors.

You must have bought it recently from ECX. It' seems several of there hangen flavors they just recently got in such as the butterscotch and the toffee taste the same way (like butter). I emailed them to ask about this and all they could say is I was correct it did taste a lot like butter but there people did taste enough butterscotch and toffee in it to deam it acceptable. I mentioned that several other people on ECF were seeing the same thing (I even sent several links). This was not the response I was hoping for. So my most recent hangsen order ( a $54.00 order by the way) was given to RTS. I think ECX just lost a customer. I had a problem with an off tasting hangsen flavor I got from vapingzone and they replaced the bottle right away. The support from ECX I thought was very sub par. I recommend hangsen very often on ECF and usually link it to ECX but from now on I think I'll be linking to VZ or RTS.

RTS only has tobacco, and I have enough of those to last me a lifetime at the low percent we use them for. However, I would like to try some non-tobacco/non-butter flavors from Hangsen. Grrrr.....

Unfortunitly thats true. I think the only resource is VZ

I haven't bought any premix since about 3 months after I started on e-cigs... Jumped into DIY with both feet and haven't looked back yet... Took me a while to get the hang of tobacco recipes (the hardest I think to get a handle on), but the others haven't been much of a problem...

If you're hesitant to trust your own math just get a decent e-juice calculator (like EJuiceMeUp) that'll do the math for you... Pick up a nice selection of syringes and a couple of smallish beaker, some gloves and goggles for working with the nic, a few flavors, and you're pretty much good to go... Check out some recipes found here or elsewhere on the Web before you order your flavors and target your flavor purchases around those recipes...

Still, though, one of the best ways to get a handle on flavors is to start off making single flavor mixes... That way you can start to determine your preferred flavor % for each one and save you some problems along the way...

But the best advice of all is, as has been stated here before, if you think you're interested in DIY just go for it! It's not all that expensive and, if you follow through, you'll save a ton of money in the long run and have a lot of fun creating your own recipes along the way... :)

I am soooo excited to get the beginning of my mad scientist diy lab tomorrow (if USPS is true to their estimated delivery date)!!!

I'm keeping it simple to start. Just have some 18mg VG base, syringes, pipettes, bottles and some flavors. I also have some 100mg on the way, but that's going directly into the freezer for future date, after I have some small idea of what I'm doing.

All the help on these boards (and really throughout the vape community) is amazing!

I could describe it as buttery vanilla. I got mine from ECX. I did taste test it with a shot of vodka. The shot was outstanding with a buttery mouth feel. But as far as tasting like butter, it does not. I remember a couple weeks ago some people talking in another thread about how they had several flavors that all smelled of butter. Perhaps it was your misfortune to get some of that.

At some point I need to come up with something more permanent. Right now I have my flavor bottles in test tube racks and spare gear in a fishing tackle box. If nothing else I am very mobile. Sure would be nice to spend a couple grand on a antique roll top desk!

Securability was a requirement for doing this in my house instead of freezing/sweating my .... off in the garage. I've got a wife, a three-year-old daughter, three cats, and a hamster. Safety-wise, I was most concerned about my little girl, of course. Don't need the cats walking around my liquids either, shedding hair around samples to be shared - gross, right?

The bar (inherited from my parents) wasn't being used for anything except storage. I cleaned it out and hard-wired the new light to the existing microswitch after checking the rating. When I pull open the bar, the light turns on automagically and I'm ready to work.

I think a roll top desk would be an excellent solution too. For anyone not living alone, especially with kid(s), I think it's essential to be able to secure your workspace at a moment's notice.

Same here. All things considered, it's a good problem to have!

^ This. I have a few ADV's that I've created. I think I'd be happy with 14, so I could have a different ADV each day for two weeks before starting over again.
