Ok. She was contemplating batteries from them. Website says they are available via Malaysia post only.

People on FT forum are saying they're getting held up there too . and malaysia post is even slower than hk post expect 6-8 weeks delivery time , best bet for fasttech is e- packet through US postal service , I've gotten excellent results from panasonic batteries from fasttech but it ain't worth waiting two months for delivery .

Yes, I do know about the batteries. But, I have 4 from FT that have lasted/performed quite well so it's tough to tell her to spend $9 on one vs $6 for two. But I will.

I'm coming more from the safety angle than the performance angle. Batteries are the last items you want to skimp. :)

That's it then. The excuses are tumbling.

Just to put your mind at ease when you do decide to rebuild , your MVP has safety features built in , the worst that can happen if you make a mistake is you'll get an error message and the MVP won't fire , no hand grenade , shower of sparks electric chair effects , an error message , that's it .

I understand where Bridget is coming from because I've gotten excellent batteries from fasttech as well , they are what they say they are , the panasonic batteries from them are really good , but I watch the forums there and I've seen too many complaints on battery shipments being held up and malaysia post taking 2 months to deliver , if I was ordering from them I'd split the shipment and order batteries separately , at least you'll get the mod and charger in a reasonable amount of time , she can get batteries elsewhere if they do get held up .

I don't know how much FT is charging for the SVD, but Health Cabin has them listed at $48.39. I've ordered a lot of gear from them and never been disappointed. Still have the vamo I got from them over a year ago and it still works fine!

bet you havent dropped it from 2+ feet onto concrete either... :)

I'm not saying Slowtech doesn't sell good batteries (I listed three brands that I know are good and safe batteries). I'm simply saying buy a safe battery. Where it is bought is of secondary importance. :)

I agree but Bridget's probably seen some of the same BS I've seen about fasttech and knows better , but yup NEVER skimp on batteries .

Some of the 18350's yes , but I wouldn't touch them trustfire , ultrafire , ie junk , they sell 18650's panasonic , sony's , samsung for $11 -$14 for two . I think you can get them stateside for a little more if you shop around .

    Most stateside outfits sell 18650 AW's for $10 - $12 each.
