Well in case you didn't notice, I'm back. I worked 12.5 hours on the freaking computer yesterday. Now I know why I was putting it off. But at least it is working. You used to be able to reformat, and be back in business in half an hour to an hour tops. Reset this thing, and it was a nightmare. The Dell Backup and Restore had me on Win8 instead of 8.1. There were 162 updates. I started the updates at 7pm last night, and gave up about 2:30am. I have one update that is just not being cooperative. I was going to pop that Linux cd in, and say to heck with it. But I found out I have to repartition my hard drive first. There for a while I had nothing, and it wouldn't boot. Dell was no help, since the computer is out of warranty. This is why they should send you the dvd WITH the computer. I am imaging the computer now, for a back up. It will take me two weeks to get this back to the way it should be, if that. Once I get it pretty lined out, I am going to try to add the Linux, so I can use either OS.

@kkay59 - I feel your pain. I remember when it was almost fun to tinker with PCs. Ugh.
LOL Lori, I know what you mean. The fun died with Win8 for me. They forced a 8.1 update on me, and I didn't know it was a biggie. Well it messed up the computer. Luckily it was in warranty then. It took a Dell tech 2-3 days to get it working right. I will not go to the 8.1 update voluntarily. I do like the simplicity of the older systems though. Now it is just getting worse and worse. If Win10 is a bust, I'm done with Microsoft I think. I liked the 8.1, not the stuff you go through, to get it. I got Linux Mint. If I like it after I try it out, I may switch permanently to it.

Robin...I think Maine .... cats are beautiful. I've always loved them.

Remind me, when do you talk to doc?
Friday morning
Laundry is on my radar also. Always is after a trip. Even if the clothes weren't worn, they go in the basket. My day has been planned.
It never ends, but even a weekend trip seems to create way more laundry than usual. I ended up not doing laundry today, put off for tomorrow. Everything else needed a good cleaning and I just didn't have the time

Speaking of cats, are yours adjusting?

Oh, they sure have. Pics to prove it are below. :)

My favorite breed of cat is the Maine ..... Total opposite of the hairless cat. Maine Coons have double coats. Very hard to get to the actual skin.

Our gray and white, Song, is tiny, but she has some of the trademark features of a Maine ..... The fur around her head and the tufts on her paws. I've also seen some photos of Norwegian Forest Cats that look a lot like her. She does not, however, have their mild temperament!

This pic of Tigg is titled, Thank You, God, for Getting Me Out of PA. ;)

We had a Norwegian forest cat, my mom has him now (he was not happy about the addition of two kittens, does much better as a single cat haha). His paws were huuuge. When getting petted he would stretch them out, they covered my whole palm. Otherwise he was a normal sized cat, if a bit on the "fluffy side" (and not just his hair either)

ADORABLE. You need to frame that pic of you and your kitty!

Do the Norwegians have the mild temperament like Maine Coons? They are so sweet looking. You must miss him. Song wishes everyday that she was in a single cat home. Her paws are way bigger than they should be based on her body size. I always say that when it comes to determining her true size, she chooses to believe her paws. :)

Lori both of your cats are colored beautifully. I used to have a cat colored close to the one in the photo with you. She was part Angora or something. She had the softest fur, and it never matted, even though it was kinda long. I loved that cat.

Thanks, Kelly! Her fur is soft and it does matte. About once per year we have to get her a lion cut. She seems to like being buzzed - like me. :)

I could see framing that pic, except that she and I both look pretty ragged. We are still recovering from the long journey. But we are happy and at ease.

He's quite... Mouthy so to speak lol. He's majorly a lap cat, but has a pretty big attitude as well.

I'm curious about his claws. Do they seem to stay out and get caught on everything? That's how Song's are. She never seems to fully retract them. Maybe she's just goofy.
