We had him declawed in the front. As a kitten he liked to dig in with all 4 paws and climb up to sit on my shoulder while I cooked and cleaned

The first thing Song did as a kitten when I first met her was climb up onto my shoulder! She nestled under my hair. Refused to be held at all, and only wanted to perch.

Back before it was so frowned upon, I had my two cats declawed. After seeing the damage to doorways that she did at the last place, we are considering it for her now. If it comes down to not being able to keep a pet versus declawing - might be a necessary step. Tigg is happy to scratch on a cardboard scratcher. Song will too, but she loves door frames. I even bought her a vertical scratching post and she wouldn't touch it. I even rubbed catnip on it to attract her. Failed.

Well, I know I have been away too long when I log on (had to reset my forgotten password) and I recognize NOTHING on the site. I had one hell of a time even finding the thread!
Should have given you a heads up on FB, my bad...

Yeah I know its very controversial to do it, but all our cats are rescues and I think they're all quite happy and well loved despite it. We can't afford new furniture and replacing door frames, plus having young children... Eh idk it just works for us and our situation. We've never had a cat have problems with the surgery and never have lasting pain because of it. I think everyone needs to decide these things based on what they feel is right. I see it as a necessary evil

Thanks @Sirius and @Stephuhnator for the feed back. I'll contact them and see about getting a replacement. It is a 100ml bottle. Maybe it's menthol, I'm not sure but it's bumming me out!

Have a good day everyone!
Robin's (menthol) DF is actually pretty good here at 6 months. When I first got she said it was really strong menth, but the menth was just a wussy to my fried taste buds. It's aged quite well to boot. :headbang:

The angora type cat I had, was declawed. After that she never covered up her poop in the litter box. I know cats can ruin your furniture, curtains etc.. from scratching. I still thought it was worth it, until the fateful day. She slipped out, I'm not sure how. My kids were very young. She was killed by dogs. She could not defend herself. (just front two paws were declawed) She was always an indoor cat.

BK, you may be right about that frog/toad. I don't think the ones here are as bad as what you have though. My son's dogs were the varmit catchers. I never saw them get more than one a night. But they never hesitated to go after another. These frogs made them froth, and many times prolifically, but doesn't effect anything else. (that I noticed) His dogs were always on the hunt in the yard.

My Maine .... (Rocky) was declawed in the front, but still had the back claws. OMG he totally demolished one doorway. At least he only trashed the one. It was upstairs in my bedroom doorway.

Sometimes it is just necessary. Scratching post meant nothing to him. Hell, he would pull that thing right over.

Even my Westie (RIP) went after frogs. Came in one night with a big one hidden in his mouth. Dropped it on the kitchen floor and scared the crap out of my house sitter. It was hilarious to hear about! But they were just standard bullfrogs with no ill effects for the pup.

My cats had no bad effects from the surgery or from the lack of claws. My friend's dogs "went pack" on a feral cat. Claws did not help the poor thing.

Oh this just burns me up to read. Besides, it is the closest state to me. If I need to get over the border to buy e juice, that was Plan A. It was start out with a low tax on y'all. Then they are going to inch it up over time. That progressive move up, will NEVER stop. That is why it needs to be nipped in the bud. I still don't know how the new law here is fully going to effect me yet, in TX. I am still mad about it too.

And it was our bedroom doorway she demolished the worst! It's an attention thing every bit as much as it is a need to scratch, if not more. The stinkers!

J is so tender hearted she says we will just replace the door frames.

That might be how the frog got into my house. One of the dogs could've brought it in. Or you could open the door at night, and one could hop in. I live right next to the woods. There are all kinds of wildlife here. But they keep cutting down the woods. They are ruining the natural beauty of this area, with all the tree cutting. Trees give you oxygen, and SHADE. We need the shade badly in the summer. The real feel was like 105 the past day or two. The temps were 94-95. The humidity must still be up, we still have moisture in the soil. It is starting to dry out pretty good. But the rivers are still backed up, and flooding. We are still in a flood warning, not a flood watch. (or at least we were last I looked)

Personal income tax was originally a temporary measure to help pay for the Civil War. It lasted 10 years. About 20 years later it was re-enacted and was made permanent. And it grew to the beast it is today. (not to start a political debate or anything)

Edit: Got the facts wrong! The second one was not permanent. That law came later, in 1913.

Didn't realize it was from back in the Civil War. I thought it was to pay for one of the world wars.

Love learning new stuff :D

You may be right that the permanent one was justified because of WWI. The one 20 years later was struck down by the Supreme Court. The 16th amendment was passed in 1913, and made personal income taxes permanent.

It's so cool to get curious about something and be able to find answers within minutes! Gotta love the Information Age. :)

I think I have dropped the ml use down to about 6ml. I can't say for sure, because I go from device, to device, to vape. A little tax doesn't seem like much at first. But then like I said, they are going to keep going up. Once the foot is in the door, it is very hard to close it. (let's just say impossible, unless you stomp that foot pretty hard for trespassing lol)
