I feel for you BK, you did the right thing by telling that guy off.
I had probably the worst shift on this job ever. Every customer was rude, demanding and ignorant in some way or another.
One chat was with a doctor (do he said) who had a problem that I immediately knew was not his iPhone but with one of his apps he downloaded, just not which app. He had already gone to an apple store and they replaced it, when he got home he loaded his backup from iTunes and the issue started all over again. He demanded I send him another iPhone, a brand new one this time and not refurbished and he wanted it upgraded for free for his troubles.
I refused to and told him what the problem was and we had to sort through his apps and uninstall any that might have a setting that could cau6his glitch until we found the one that was the cause.
I spent 2 hours and 40 minutes with him working through it while he called me small, stupid, ......ed, foolish, a ...., a waste of the air I breath. He told me twice I should just kill myself.
In the end I was right and fixed it. He said I might have been right but if I thought he was going to apologize to the likes of me I was mistaken, he was important enough and educated enough to have earned the right to be wrong.
I told him no apology was needed or expected, I was just happy to have fixed his iPhone. He got even more irate and demanded to speak to my supervisor because now I was just being cocky.
When someone asks for a supervisor we get someone from senior support for them (T2), when I got someone from senior support he said I should be fired for what I said and chewed me out for 10 minutes while in the other chat the customer still was raving on like a lunatic.
I can't say crap to the customer without getting fired but I sure gave it to the guy from T2. Then I let my supervisor know and she read the whole chat and then spoke to the senior guts sup and together they pulled him and gave him one hell of a talking to, he is on probation and will likely lose his job. He didn't read the chat with the customer, just decided to lay into me for no reason.
I want to crawl under a rock and never come out. Oh and during my shift I vaped almost 20ml, in 8.5 hours......
Way to go Sam. You stuck it to the jerk the best way you could have. I love it!
