Jury Duty tomorrow. $8 a day. No reimbursement from my employer either. So I get to burn vacation time to get sucked up into the System.

I just spent the whole day in Jury selection.. weird huh, Papaw?! we did not get paid. I paid for lunch and parking and coffee.. and a whole lot of time. :)

What a co-wink-a-dink!
I believe I mentioned that my sister-in-law brought a NOTICE OF FILURE TO REPOND TO YOUR JURY SUMMONS. Not sure what happened to the original summons... Had to login to LA court website and tell them I'm not presently domiciled in ConUS (an ex-pat). :2cool:

KKay, sorry to hear about your fall - did you put ice on that goose egg?

Robin, hope hubby is feeling better soon. (PS, adding to Bronze's advice - garlic wreaths and crosses work well too ;))

Went to the US embassy with my two visa applicants and their sponsor for their interview - found out they (US Em.) have a new policy not allowing anyone but the applicants into the grounds. We (sponsor & I - both US citizens) had to wait in front of the gate for an hour and a half only to find out I supplied enough evidence to let them go to the US, but not enough to ensure they would come back to Thailand. Applications denied - $325 in fees down the toilet.

Wow Chak, that stinks. 325 dollars is not chump change. Sorry to hear this.

No, I didn't put ice on it. When I was in my mid twenties I get hit in the back of the head with a ski. Long story. It didn't put a bump on my head either. But I did get a mild concussion from it. I saw stars from that one. That was a weekend from hell I tell ya. I can laugh now, but it wasn't funny then. I guess my family is hard headed. That could mean the swelling is going in, and not out. The only thing that worries me is I take aspirin daily. That might be a problem. So far I am alright though.

Caregivers of the sponsor who is disabled and confined to a wheelchair. She, Timmie, was a Thai who lived in the States over many years, got citizenship, married with one son, nice house - the "American Dream", right. Four years ago, while on vacation in Athens with her son, she has a motorcycle accident and breaks her back and hasn't been back to US since. Her Thai family brought her back here when she was well enough, but she's been through hell just to be barely able stand and use her hands. At first, she was almost completely paralyzed from the neck down.

One of the caregivers is her nephew - he lifts her in and out of the wheelchair to SUV. The other lady has been working for the family's business and now takes care of the rest of Timmie's needs - i.e. dressing, feeding, changing/emptying the catheter and urine bag, etc.

Her US family (hubby & son) isn't giving her any support at all. She needs to go to US to settle her affairs with them.

What a cluster! What is the reason given for denial?

They said there wasn't enough evidence to show that the applicants had strong ties compelling them to come back to Thailand. Ties such as work, family, or studies, etc. What burns me up is that they wouldn't let Timmie in to state her case why she needs them to go with her!

Dust/Pops Drew Estate Toasted Black Cavendish is a bit too "cologne-like" for my tastes. Either of you sampled this one?

Nope, not that one. If I want Black Cavendish I go to NET.com.

Dismissed from Jury Duty, I think.... As the Attorneys objected to this juror or that juror, I was called to fill one of these seats.
I answered three questions, and was dismissed. I think...

But I still have to call in after 6pm for further instructions......

Maybe you'll make it through the week without being needed, Pop. I served about a year ago. Called in each night and they told me to stay home and call the next night. By Wednesday they told me to quit calling altogether. Service done!

I much prefer Clay's black cav to this stuff that's for sure. Moved onto Drew Estate Blonde and it has that same off-putting base flavor. I don't see where the Drew Estate line will work for me.

For all you squonk fans out there, Vaporflask is putting up their first run of them soon, they have a sign up deal going on the Vaporflask Owners Group on Facebook right now. It's $335 with DNA 40 chip. Going to go extremely fast from the looks of it.

I wish I had the money, I would snatch one in a heartbeat...

Good afternoon...don't have time to catch up right now but hope everyone is doing well. Things are great here just really busy. One of these days I'll find a little spare time to catch up:)

Hi IA! Miss you around here. You ought to have more time now that the Hawks, Cyclones, and Panthers have been booted. :)

How does VaporFlask expect you to reach the onboard juice bottle, from the bottom ? If so, how do you refill, and where's the connection to the feed tube/ 510 connector ? As some who has been using BF Mods for 2 1/2 years, I would also ask where is the Electric Chip/ circuits ? Sooner or later juice will spill inside of that thing, trust me. If there is a leak (sooner or later there will be) and you have to invert the mod to fill the onboard bottle...
An access door would be better than an access plug in the bottom.

Well I am moving rather slowly today. I had a freak accident last night. I took the dog out for her last restroom break of the evening. We were heading back to the house. All of a sudden she takes off in reverse from the direction I was headed. I guess she ran, it happened so fast, I can't say for sure. All I know is my arm went behind me, the leash was jerked from my hand, I was pulled off balance, and fell. I first went down and hit either my rump, my hand, or both at the same time...on the driveway. Then my legs were in the air, and I was still going backwards. I fell back and hit my head on the metal part of my wheel. (on my truck) It was either the hubcap, or the aluminum around that. I heard the P I N G sound. I was dazed, and could not get up for a few moments. I did not know where my dog was, so I called her softly. I didn't want to scare her. I was afraid she would get hit by a car. I guess she wondered where I was, since I was laying by the truck, out of her line of sight. She comes up, and seems concerned as why I am on the ground. I am thankful she came to me, and didn't get hurt. I grabbed the leash for dear life. I slowly got on my knees, and got up. Today, I'm stiff. (still moving slow) But at least I didn't break my neck, or worse! I am very lucky. I was mad at my dog at first. Now I am just going to have to be more careful. It caught me completely off guard. I guess you forget how powerful these dogs really are. She wasn't trying to hurt me at all. I am thankful I didn't fall on her too. It will probably take me a while to get over this. I know I got a cervical strain from it. But thankfully I didn't break anything. When I was younger a fall like that wouldn't have been as big of a deal. But the older you get, the worse those falls can be.
Can't like this post KK , it takes me weeks to recover from a fall now instead of days . You might wanna lay off the aspirin regimen for a couple of days .
