I was hoping it was just my lipgloss (it's mineral based?). Anyway... It's gone to the garbage can. I really will blow my face off one of these days!

I bet if you blow your face off like you said jokingly, you would still look prettier than me in the mornings when I wake up! ;)

Just got info from Adam. He (and I) thought should be mentioned here in case anyone has questions or concerns about HHV's website credit card security. This is a direct quote.

"Your credit card number is then encypted and sent directly to the credit card processor. We do not see or store your credit card info. We made sure when we started this business that our customer's information remained securing during their entire shopping experience.

Hope this gives you and hopefully others (if you will spread the word) that you are safe shopping on our site...

Kind Regards,
Adam
HHV"

So be safe out there in Internetland. Keep your practices safe and be assured that HHV keeps our security in mind from start to finish. vape on.

In my case it was the credit card processor that was hacked. As bad as it sounds to say this, Thank goodness I wasn't the only one affected. Taking comfort in numbers, ya know.

Oh my... all of this credit card stuff is worrying me a lot!! I don't have a real CC, so I have to use my bank card with the visa symbol for my purchases. If someone jacked that I'd be screwed.

I've ordered so much stuff from so many places lately... in super worried now. I use PayPal when I can, and avoid buying direct from China or anything that looks shady, but it seems like that's not enough these days.

Damn

You must have gotten your order. Being nice to a girl named after a calendar month :)

Haha. How'd you know?? Yesterday I got a slew of vapemail, including 5 HHV's, 3 of them are NETs. Rest are palette cleansers, aka. heavy menthol kissing angels hehe. All steeping at the moment, I"ll def share my opinions on them after a quick steep.

If it's any consolation, my case was a debt card with a visa logo too. And just like Dusty said, a quick call from the bank, new card sent out, problem solved. So if Im not worried, you shouldnt be hun. :)

Prepaid cards are the safest way to avoid identity theft, but It doesn't guarantee you won't be hacked though. The downside to using prepaid cards is if you get hacked and someone drains the balance, you're at a financial loss. Banks are insured and even debit cards are protected against fraud. In the case of fraud, the bank will take the financial hit and you lose no money whether it's from a debit or a credit card. If you use prepaid cards, use very low balances and refill them only as needed.

I was first introduced to prepaid gift cards for iTunes when I bought an engraved ipad for my boo. She likes to buy every app she can fit. I haved old iTunes gift cards stacked up like a deck of cards. If I had taken that approach to vaping I might have not just bought a used Saber Touch on the classys. Afterall I have provaris and now reos, what was I thinking? So thumbs up on the idea of prepaids on a vape budget, or I could have just demonstrated some self control but where's the fun in that ;)

Maybe I'll reduce my risk and just not order from anyone except HHV from now on.... not like I'd be missing much....

I'm getting lethargic from not having anyone to chase around the ECF network. Go create some havoc will ya? I need to stretch my legs. :)

There are a dozen ways for someone to get a hold of your cc#. There is no foolproof way to secure online purchases. You need to be wary and save all your receipts and records of online purchases. I keep email confirmations in a separate file and file all hard copy invoices once I receive packages. That way I can trace my activity very easily. Modern fraud protection that the banks use is very effective. There's no need to get paranoid. The fact is that gas stations are still the #1 place where fraud originates. Just be aware and make sure all the payment pages you visit are encrypted with SSL (you have to have that turned on in your browser too) and that your connection to the site starts with "https".

Even if this had occured with HHV (which it didn't - for those just catching up) then I wouldn't let it deter me from placing future orders as long as they plug the leak. You can't put a price on loyality :) By the way, everytime I run into someone with a monkey in eir avatar, I always pay more attention bcause every single time it's been someone older, wiser, more experiencd than me chiming in. :)

"Just wanted to give you the low down on our site. We are totally encrypted and use a secure socket layer during all the checkout processes. You can see this by noting the https in the address bar when you are logged in during checkout. Your credit card number is then encypted and sent directly to the credit card processor. We do not see or store your credit card info. We made sure when we started this business that our customer's information remained securing during their entire shopping experience.

I noticed when I placed my first order with HHV that they didn't keep the CC number. I had forgotten to check that box where you agree to terms....blah blah blah.... Checked the box and had to re-enter info. Since I only order once a month, I always just skim and forget to check the box. If you never have to enter your CC info, after the first time, your number is stored on some website vulnerable to hacking.

Edit: Have a good day Pap, stay safe brother. Oh, before I forget. I got a an identical Reo as yours! Haven't broken it in yet.

Actually the REOS in this avatar is a mini, a nearly indestructable mechanical mod that fits into my shirt pocket and can withstand the punishment of life in a big rig.
You are EDT? What time do you hit the sack?

Yes, I'm on EDT and the alarm normally goes off 2am my time. I actually rolled over for another hour this morning, sorry I was so late posting my morning well wishes.

Maybe I'll reduce my risk and just not order from anyone except HHV from now on.... not like I'd be missing much....

IT LIVES !!!! What's up GT ? Haven't seen that smiling chimp for awhile. Hope you're not burning out on too much work. All work and no play would make GT a dull chimp !

Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that RhP - there are a couple of threads going on the forum right now about some c/c problems - I can't quite ID where the breach came from, but some are indicating it may have been AV's processor network? Anyway, all of you should double check your c/c activity closely because there's a spate of it going round on vaping supplies at the moment.

I just woke up to a disturbing phone call :( :(

My CC # has been stolen. Long story short, bank cancelled it, sending me out new one, claims form (so if they catch the perps, I can prosecute) and looks like since I only had like 10 bucks left on my acct before it happened, they didnt get very far. It's funny, the reason I didnt have much left was because i bought so much vape gear before this happened. In a way, vaping has spared me the headache of losing hundreds of bucks to fraud lol
