And then of course, on the other side of the coin, that should serve the thievin' buggers right - stealing a vaper's credit card info believing there'd actually be any credit on it to use. Bwahahahahahaaaaa

I just woke up to a disturbing phone call :( :(

My CC # has been stolen. Long story short, bank cancelled it, sending me out new one, claims form (so if they catch the perps, I can prosecute) and looks like since I only had like 10 bucks left on my acct before it happened, they didnt get very far. It's funny, the reason I didnt have much left was because i bought so much vape gear before this happened. In a way, vaping has spared me the headache of losing hundreds of bucks to fraud lol

Red I am sympathetic to your situation. Thankfully that nightmare has not visited my home (yet). The only advice I could offer would be this: Get out your new REOS, set it up with your favorite RBA/ Carto/ atty, charged batteries and your favorite juice (Boba's ?). Sit back, play some relaxing music and try to disconnect from it all for a half-hour or so. A calm mind work better.

There are a dozen ways for someone to get a hold of your cc#. There is no foolproof way to secure online purchases. You need to be wary and save all your receipts and records of online purchases. I keep email confirmations in a separate file and file all hard copy invoices once I receive packages. That way I can trace my activity very easily. Modern fraud protection that the banks use is very effective. There's no need to get paranoid. The fact is that gas stations are still the #1 place where fraud originates. Just be aware and make sure all the payment pages you visit are encrypted with SSL (you have to have that turned on in your browser too) and that your connection to the site starts with "https".

I always make sure to be careful and keep a good eye on the sites I'm on, and I'm also fairly good with computers... I've got my router locked down, I never order anything from a Wi-Fi connection, and I use PayPal when I can.

I've been ordering stuff off the net long before getting into vaping... there just seems to be so many of these stories popping up lately it's a little concerning. I even see some of the new brick and mortar stores in my area use that "cube" card scanner attached to a iPad. Not sure how much I trust that system.

Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that RhP - there are a couple of threads going on the forum right now about some c/c problems - I can't quite ID where the breach came from, but some are indicating it may have been AV's processor network? Anyway, all of you should double check your c/c activity closely because there's a spate of it going round on vaping supplies at the moment.

AV's processor network?

The flowers and chocolate may end up being some HHV flavors.
Now if I could just explain to my fiance why I'm spending hundreds of bucks on vapegear in the classys and such, maybe I wont be forced to sleep on the couch so often, haha. I might have to call you guys & gals as defendents/witness to help me plead my case to my honeybunny, so get your best clothes on and make sure ehen you come over you bring flowers or chocolates. preferrably both.

He's back. Now to change my avatar again.

Maybe I'll reduce my risk and just not order from anyone except HHV from now on.... not like I'd be missing much....

You need to trust your vender. The vendor needs to trust the processor network. They are the ones who hold the keys to the castle, unless the vendor is mega big and does it inhouse. If the processor goes south, everyone loses; both the vender and us. Atleast I think thats how it works, not sure.

I'm getting lethargic from not having anyone to chase around the ECF network. Go create some havoc will ya? I need to stretch my legs. :)

Give me enough time and I'm bound to step on someone's toes. Be careful what you ask for because if GT doesn't take you up on this offer I will reluctantly be forced to! J/K, no seriously, I'm joking!!

I know the Lion is busy today, but let me say something to you that he would have perhaps said.

RHP, she's still your fiancee, not your wife. If she does not understand and accept what you are doing now, she will not later either. You have options at this time that are less damaging than they will be in the future. Just sayin'. ;)

Back to me..

Don't listen to a word that the Lion is saying. work at building a strong relationship in which y'all understand each other and trust each other. As long as you don't go overboard and hurt your home finances with your buying, you should be able to justify it to her and she should be able to understand that choice. If not.. refer to what the Lion said! ;)

Haha. You and lion are kindred spirits or bipolar, either way very funny mr. commedian!

EDIT: my first proper multipost. Please direct all hate mail to hula and ch for showing me

I can't wait until all this is behind me. I can't wait until I master squaking. I can't wait until I can tear down and rebuild a Reo. I can't wait until I learn what a co-op is without getting a headache. I can't wait until all my HHV juices are steeped. I can't wait until bedtime so I don't clog this thread with chatter that nobody will remember in a week. I can't wait to taste every HHV juices until I find the right one for me.

It is for that reason I am buying all unprotected CC purchases from this point forward on a prepaid card. My actual cards will only fund 3rd party pay services. The card rip offs are rampant.

EDIT: HHV is truly the only vendor I have trusted with my actual CC number based on a phone conversation before my first order. He explained the system just like his written one today. No problems so far...

Hey, Rocketpunk:)! It's cool to see you around here. You still looking for something to tide you over until your Rocketpunk Butterscotch (I've rebranded it in my head from MBV;)) goes back to launching you into orbit? Legend is one of the HHV juices I'm still awaiting in the mail. I'll let others chime in to help you there. I used to enjoy an occasional Swisher Sweet, as well, so I'll double you up on that question. I'm cuckoo for the Huntsman, but it's probably not sweet enough for your taste. My fingers are still crossed for you on your RB:p!

Bad advice under any circumstances to "Don't listen to a word that the Lion is saying". The Lion may be wrong, but it is always entertaining. You should always listen, for entertainment value if for no other reason! For the record, my girl does not question my spending....or else!

Thank ya, Dusty. Is good to be back. Long day today. I kept wondering if our CoOp was going live and wondering if I was missing it. Interstate 64 was like a demolition derby...

Driving for 7 hours takes it's toll on you, even lions. I don't know how professional drivers do it.
